Previously, Conte was quizzed on the potential move for the Manchester United striker following the game.

The Italian admitted that he hasn't lost belief that he can bring him to the Serie A giants before the European transfer window closes.

"We continue to work on it in the best possible way," Conte said.

"I understand there are some gaps that need to be filled, but at the moment, I am very hopeful that this will happen."

All of this, of course, i think it might depend on where Paulo Dybala winds up by the end of this summer.

Dybala did appear destined for a move to Manchester United, but that appears to have gone belly-up, with sources telling ESPN FC that United are ready to end talks

Antonio Conte was confident Inter made further progress towards being ready for the new season against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Nerazzurri secured a 1-1 draw in London after Stefano Sensi cancelled out Lucas Moura’s second-minute opener.

Inter then won 4-3 on a penalty shoot-out, ensuring they ended their International Champions Cup campaign on a high.

Inter boss Antonio Conte is holding out hope of a deal for Romelu Lukaku after Manchester United reportedly ended talks over a possible swap deal with Juventus involving Paulo Dybala.

Striker Lukaku has long been believed to be Conte's top transfer target but the Nerazzurri have been unable to match United's asking price.

Despite making what CEO Giuseppe Marotta described as a fair offer.

It seemed a move to Juventus was looking more likely as the Serie A champions.

It was that discussed a deal that would also see Dybala move to Old Trafford.
