So the House passed standalone Ukraine aid is $61 billion in aid to Ukraine.

It is very similar to the Senate passed Ukraine aid.

About $37 billion of the $61 billion is military aid for Ukraine.

I see a lot of confusion about how Ukraine aid works.

We fund Ukraine's military through primarily two major mechanisms. The Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative and the Presidential Drawdown Authority.

The Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative purchases new equipment and munitions from US contractors for Ukraine. The Presidential Drawdown Authority empowers the president to transfer existing equipment to Ukraine from military stockpiles.

Of the $37 billion in Ukraine military aid in the House bill, $14 billion would be for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. $23 billion is for replenishing weapons stocks (effectively allowing for transfers of equipment to Ukraine).

An additional $11 billion is for US military operations in Europe in general.

Remainder is non-military aid to Ukraine and various other things.
