ULOG: When Your Students Loves You
Yesterday, I had a grossed day. Well, that was because I did so many things that were not on my to-do-list for the day.
I started out so early to the post office in Uyo, Nipost; to send a package to Lagos, which I posted quite on time.
Was about entering a vehicle back home when a call from one of my friends entered and that automatically rescheduled without permission, other items on my agenda.
I have little cousins whose friends do visit them at home. They play a lot.
Children in junior secondary, you know.
So, to effectively utilize their holidays; I decided to make a lesson plan, teach them mathematics since i am a mathematics teacher, juniors major... and ensure that I engage them with classwork and assignments which they find it very interesting...
they engage in a class conversation with themselves to find solutions to problems
I allow them to use the board and explain their solutions. This is to build up self-confidence and boldness in them.
*i allow them make the mistakes, guide them to see the errors and show them how to correct their errors and arrive at appropriate solutions...
So yesterday, when I finally got home, I had to apologize to them for not starting the lessons on time. But before then, I went inside to drop my handbag and return to our veranda; where I normally use for the lessons. On reaching the door close to the veranda, they'd turned the board directly opposite the entrance, then I saw that drawing and writings on it. (which I have used as the thumbnail for this post).
Guess what? I was so o relieved on reading it such that the stress and fatigue I felt on my way home just disappeared. It brought a big grin to my face... that smile, you know: that someone cares...
I spent an unusual time with them and also had some fun with them during our short-break
while teaching them, I did learn something from them too. They have unknowingly taught me how to love, care, tolerate, and most noteworthy : " try different ways when solving a problem..."
Everyday, I pray for them and with them for more wisdom
to be creative.
...and that prayer has not been unanswered by God.
I am really going to miss them when school resumes and they returned to their boarding houses.
** I am yet to find that thing that will give me more joy than teaching and learning everyday****
TEACHING IS THE MOTHER OF ALL PROFESSIONS

Little things do matter...Like a small thank you and all, just like you felt relieved when you saw the drawing from the kids.
By the way, I love mathematics too but I don't know if I can teach, lol
Too much stress.
You're doing a geat job ma'am
Cheers
Hahhahaaa...
Yeah....
You can o
You find out that you'll enjoy it as soon as you start... Teaching is like a physical exercise most times...
