ULOG /GRATITUDE DAY #9

in #ulog8 years ago (edited)

Hello lovely steemians, greetings.

Today I was able to achieve to things which are finishing a book and cooking cowpeas (okpa).

My day started by waking up to the sound of my noisy alarm. I woke up said my prayers, did my house chores and bathed.

Since I had no place to go, I decided to finish a book I already started.

The book is titled "Oregon brides" by Tracey Bateman. An American christian romance.

It's a book I would recommend to atheists, agnostics and those who are falling out of their faith. I felt the presence of God in the characters of the book life's. And it was a nice read, I was happy I got it.

Finishing the book, later in the day. I decided to join my aunt in the kitchen to prepare a meal, though I love to call it snacks😋.

One of the reasons am proud to be an Igbo is because of the varieties of food we have. Yes am an epicurean, am sure you most have known by now.

So learning we would be making cowpeas, popularly known as (okpa) in Nigeria, I was happy. I love that particular food so much.

Now let me give some tutorials on how it's been prepared.

Actually this particular food preparation is dedicated to @adejoke16, @surpassinggoogle and @adoore-eu.

Now the steps..

Ingredients.

Grounded cowpea

Palm oil

Salt

Pepper

Uzuza seed

And warm water.

Steps.

You start by grounding and adding the uzuza into the grounded cowpea.

Then you add your salt and pepper to the mixed cowpea with uzuza.

Next is, you add your palm oil to it.

Then you add your warm water and stir with your hand.

Note, it adviceable to use warm water rather than cold or hot water, to enable the cowpea and palm oil to mix together, to give a creamy form. And when doing so, you should be mindful of the quantity of water so as not to make it watery.

After mixing, you put the creamy mixture into your desired holder, (be it leather, tin or leaf wrapper). And while doing so, your pot with water in it, should be on the fire.

Then you serve it into the desired holder you want it to be.

That's all you have to do. Then leave it to cook.

After some minutes or hours, depending you can check 👇.

Sorry I wasn't able to snap pictures of me eating my favourite meal due to low battery.

But I give it to you, I enjoyed it with my coke.

After munching on the food, I left for church activities.

Coming back it was already 9 o'clock, so I bathed, eat again and charged my phone.

While charging and steeming, I slept off still this morning 🙅.

My Gratitude Message.
My gratitude first, goes to my aunt for teaching me how to prepare cowpea (okpa). At least this would save me when am into school, because I can take it with me and eat it whenever I feel hungry, and even save my allowance for better things.

And secondly to the book for uplifting my faith.

That was how my day went.

**Now let's hear yours, because in every nonsense their is a sense.
