the perks of working in travel is meeting so many people and having so many conversations about so many things. Whenever I sit down and have a chat with the travelers, they have thing few things in common. For instance, they had so many misconception in their mind about India, which they felt are totally wrong and so not true. They seem so surpise and so am I. I never thought that's what we have as a picture of ours in the world.

There are so many things they say but I would list a few that were the most common and some of them shocking too.

women get raped here

The first and the biggest one that I hear is this one. They have this picture of India where a women gets raped and hence it's not at all safe in India to travel for a women. And if she is traveling solo, then it's a big NO. When asked how they felt this way. They would tell about the Delhi rape case that happened years ago and it made a lot of people to change their mind to visit India. though reaching India, living here, they realize otherwise.
it was very interesting and kind of some of the foreign people to actually vlog or blog about the misconception on India, especially this one.

people here, shit in the open

A lot of these ask me, if that's true as soon as they arrive. They ask if that is even possible and they are more shocked to hear about the women doing it. Though I agree it was true earlier and that this still exist in some parts but that's because of the poverty they have. India is now highly developing and we has more toilets then ever and this is not a scenario anymore. not at all. And this is what they realise once they take a tour around and often tells me how wrong they were on that.

Indian is a language

This one is funny. people would come up and ask : do you speak Indian?" and I would say " yeah, but which one ?" . haha. they seems surprise and ask further if there are more then one!! and I would tell them how many of languages exist in all parts of India. Though many of them had their research done, there are surprisingly good number of people who get to know all this once they come to India.

Indian food is full of spices

This one is interesting one. A lot of people who comes here, have this picture of Indian food in mind that it's gonna be spicy yet they want to try most of it as they heard it finger licking good too. And they do try, and they realise that they can keep spice according to them and not all of the Indian food is spicy. It's funny to listen to their experiences and stories on this.

I hope these all get cleared from the poeple's mind and we have a much better and real picture of India in the world.
