I, Tonya (Film): Review.
After her career took off with The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, she made a small appearance in The Big Short, and then starred in Focus and Z for Zachariah, last year appeared in Terminal, but without a doubt her great success was his interpretation of the controversial Tonya Harding in 2017, Margot Robbie has made his career grow and today I will talk about this film in which she makes a great performance.

Year: 2017
Category: Biographical, Dark Comedy.
Director: Craig Gillespie.
Cast: Margot Robbie, Sebastian Stan, Allison Janney, Julianne Nicholson, Bobby Cannavale, Paul Walter Hauser.

Plot
The film narrates with mockumentary style the life of the artistic skater Tonya Harding and her connection to the 1994 attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan, being based on the contradictory interviews with Tonya Harding and its ex- husband Jeff Gillooly, suggesting that they are unreliable narrators.

Opinion
The spectator will be able to witness a film that tells a kind of story that we already know, in that sense it is not intended at any time to introduce a twists or to surprise the viewer in any way, but simply to tell a story product of the press, the media and the speculation of its moment, and that is not clearly known.
It is the story of Tonya Harding, an artistic figure skater, and famous not only for being the first American woman to successfully obtain a triple Axel in competition and the second woman to do so in history, as well as a great record, but how she became a controversial figure in the press thanks to her character and personality, and for being involved in the attack on Nancy Kerrigan, an figure skater as well.
And although it seems that what I said could be a spoiler, it is not, that everyone knows, the story that is shown in the film has much more to tell, not only the incident, no, but it tries to reflect part of Tonya's childhood, and how the pressure, the hostility, the violence, the exigency but also the commitment of her mother, led to develop her abilities, not to mention the rather toxic relationship she had with her husband Jeff Gillooly.
The film tries to narrate the whole story and it does so using a fast rhythm, a stylized image and with defined colors for each character, a very good and wisely used soundtrack, while showing everything to the viewer by fragmenting the events and simultaneously showing, on the one hand, the protagonists of the story appear narrating the events that occurred, while showing us both childhood, youth and the early part of adulthood of the main character, in addition to breaking the fourth wall on several occasions.
The direction by Craig Gillespie is fine, although it is not his first job I have not seen his previous films. The same thing I have to say about the work of Steven Rogers, the screenwriter, does it well, but I did not know it until now either.
The acting work is very good, Margot Robbie shines in what is probably her best performance, and for which she received an Oscar nomination. Allison Janney also does an incredible job in the film, playing the ruthless and aggressive mother of Tonya Harding, LaVona Golden. The rest of the performances are fine, Sebastian Stan does an acceptable job, and Paul Walter Hauser works as an acceptable humor element.
In short, an entertaining film with a very good rhythm, great soundtrack, sequences of skating well done, and great performances.
