Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite, has borrowed another major in-game feature from its upstart competitor, Apex Legends.

In a tweet Friday, Fortnite revealed that it will be introducing a new respawn feature called the Reboot Van, which is exceptionally similar to the now-popular Respawn Beacons found in Apex Legends.

Starting next week, Fortnite players will be able to travel to locations on the map where they can bring their teammates back to life if they've been knocked out of a match, adding an entirely new dynamic to the game.

Fortnite also recently adopted Apex Legends' ping system, which allows players to non-verbally communicate with their squads to highlight enemies, weapons and other locations.

These feature releases are a clear move to combat Apex Legends' growing popularity, as the game has gained more than 50 million users in just over a month.

However, Fortnite has continued to hold its own. In a recent interview with Engadget, Epic Games' CEO revealed that Fortnite has grown roughly 25% since November, and now has around 250 million registered players.
