Hahahaha, there is no greater measure to mankind than a gentleman's cockles.

You know what, Adelaide is going to become Australia's Steem capital... I'm from Melbourne and I love it with all my heart, but it's so caught up in itself and hating Sydney and traffic that it's totally not going to notice Steem for ages. Sydney is way too rapt up in itself and Perth is too carefree. It's Adelaide's to lose!

Sort:

I'm Sydney, and I can totally see that it's too rapped up in itself and being busy all the time to do anything new in a big way.

Adelaide will be the first capital, then once it's big, then Melbourne or Sydney will decide that it's good and steal it. Or try to!

I'll be backing Adelaide though, even though I live in Sydney cos it's where I'm from.

Hahaha, Melbs and Sydders are way too good at stealing the goods from Adelaide.... jerks.

Absolutely. They steal everything good from Adelaide. Even me!

Awwww mannnnn... that was the best bit.
They don't even want the Grand Prix back... but I heard they'd give away half the state to WA to get some @ratticus action back.

Awww shucks.

On the plus side, SA gets some @ratticus action at least once a year. Recently 2 or 3 times a year.

(previously WA had stolen me away, which makes your comment even more amusing to me)

We had a great meetup in early October.
Really great to press the flesh in person.
Makes it real.

I've been thinking a lot about what you said and I think I'm going to try and start to spruik the word on Steemit to my more creative friends. I wasn't going to until I was completely sure it wasn't a Ponzi scheme... but now that I've met so many people I'm starting to feel guilty that I haven't shared it yet.

We all come in with those doubts, and rightly so. There are pyramid schemes springing up all over, capitalising on the hype and complexity around the crypto world.
I wrote a post explaining where the money comes from, which helped a lot of people wrap their heads around it.

Ah, that is a great post... but the real gold was in the comments I think... the bit that convinced me that it isn't a Ponzi scheme is that there is money coming from outside... not just from new people buying into the platform. The Miners are producing Steem (30%? 20%?) which goes into a pool and the people get to decide how that gets divied up... with those that have invested in the platform (either content or money) having more weight in that decision.
