Memoir of my steemit journey; Adjustments that have happened in my life since I found steemit

I want to thank @surpassinggoogle for this wonderful opportunity to talk about our journey in steemit- the challanges, achivements and changes it has brought.. Also, special thanks to the #untalented family
So, I got to know about steemit from my elder brother @kodeblacc. I got a text from him one afternoon on whatsapp... Before then, I have been seeing him talk about steemit on his whatsapp stories...
He told me "Evidence, you are good at writing. And you spend most of your time making posts on facebook and chatting. Why don't you channel that zeal to a platform where you'll get value for the posts you make" He told me about the intricacies of this platform
And, good people of "steem land" that was how my journey started...
I made my first post, which was my introductory post and I felt good... I got upvoted, people commented and commended me on a good introduction. That got me started... It was a huge achievement for me. I had to tell peoppe about this wonderful site.
I mean, why waste your time on snap chat, instagram and the rest of them liking pictures and posting pictures when there is a community of people who would take out time to read what you wrote. A community where your voice would be heard... Getting paid for making posts is a wonderful bonus though..
Well I made my second post and my third and my fourth.. Let's just I got a little bit discouraged. I mean, these were posts I felt were good. But people thought otherwise I think. But it actually taught me a lesson. It made me want to actually do more, to write better.. And it taught me that even though I don't get acknowledged for something beautiful I write, as long as I see the beauty in it, I am good.. And it kept me going.. It increased my committment. I felt motivated..
I have made some adjustments since I joined. Prior to steemit, I spend most of my time on social media just goofing around. But now, I sit down to think to enable me construct something worthy of being read.
It's been beautiful and I know that it can only get better.
