December 24, 2017 when I received the greatest Christmas gift I could ever have; getting the approval of my Steemit account. It has been 13 days since I started and I still can’t get over the euphoria which Steemit brings to my daily life.

Now, my days are filled with excitement, joy and knowledge as I meet new people,learn new things and look forward to a better future. Certainly, Steemit is not just an avenue to earn and increase our finances but is also a way for us to be truly connected to others.

My Deep Why’s

All of us have different reasons why we are in Steemit and regardless of such reasons, we get incentives for posting our creations. That, for me is something that makes Steemit way different from the rest of social media platforms.

Again, we have different and personal reasons why we are here. Thus, it is only imperative for me to share first my deep why’s and how Steemit was able to realize those. You will only be able to understand the amazing adjustments and changes which Steemit brought to my life if you know why I am here in the first place.

For those who happened to read my introduction post #introducemyself The Modern Woman Way , you would know that I have so much in my plate right now juggling law school, full time job and freelance writing.

I am a government employee and writing has always been my first love. I write my superior’s letters, memoranda, messages and speeches. There are times when I am swamped with paper works and there are also lax days. However, working in the government is not as financially rewarding as it seemed to be. In the words of @meetmysuperego,

Working in the Philippines as a government employee won’t give you a mansion and a lamborghini.

So, I have to find ways to earn extra for my tuition fee at law school and other needs. That is how I entered the world of freelance writing. I am task to write according to the needs and standards of my clients. The more expenses I have to take care, the more time I have to spend writing which often takes even my studying time.

And Then Steemit Happened…
I was a bit skeptical when my friend @katiepals introduced Steemit to me as the benefits are too good to be true. However, my 13 days in this platform proved me wrong.

Here are the top Steemit adjustments which amazingly changed my entire life:

Writing Freely with the Possibility of Passive Income
In all honesty and humility, I was enticed to join Steemit because of the financial freedom that it promises. Aside from discovering new talents, being connected with new friends all over the world, I am here because I wanted to find new ways to earn.

Now, I am only with Steemit for 13 days and I can truly say that it has been a rewarding 13 days for me. I was able to gather a decent amount and I am just starting! I can already feel the excitement thinking of what Steemit and the year 2018 has in store for me.

Freedom to Write Anything that Interests Me
Freelance writing has its low points and even if I wasn’t really sleeping well for the past two years, I couldn’t complain because I have no other option. I have to complete the articles regardless of how many rewrites and edits my client want me to perform for the article. I have to submit on time. I have to follow the writing requirements and so on and so on.

This is something that Steemit changed for me. Now, I am writing with full heart knowing that somewhere out there, someone will appreciate my works.Through Steemit, I can write whatever interests me. No rules to follow. No deadlines to meet. Just write with authenticity and honesty. Now, I am writing because I want to write and not because I am paid to write.

Steemit Gave Me Longer Sleep Hours
Before Steemit, I was spending day and night working and studying with only an hour or two sleep hours. Finishing at least five 2000-word articles a day, reading cases and books and reporting to my regular job would not really permit me to sleep a wink.

Life Should Not Be A Competitive Catapult
We live in a world where the competition to the top is tight and very messy. Humans, through the advancement of technology are too busy competing with each other which often leads to losing of humanity. We no longer care about nature, we do not have time for small talks. Certainly, we are drowned with the problems of the economy and the illusions of the modern world.

With the kind of community that Steemit is building right now, I can finally see hope for the humankind. It teaches us to be more gentle, more patient and more giving to those who want to learn the platform. In fact, I am writing this article with a grateful heart knowing that @surpassinggoogle, @maverickinvictus @katiepals @jackielouvarquez and @premraval010 have contributed so much to my growth in Steemit.

Steemit is Our Gateway Back to Childhood
We have dreams and talents that we used to have but along with time, we suddenly forgot and lost. Steemit has found ways for me to tap to my childhood memories and made me realize that I used to like drawing, writing poems and other forgotten interests.

Now, I am re-exploring these likes and would love to share all these to the entire Steemit community.

My Two Cents
Steemit has brought me to cloud 9 for 13 days now. I am more positive that things will get better in the next coming days. To those who have been in the platform for quite sometime now, I am positive that you have already earned your share of upvotes and cash outs. I hope that you extend your help a little bit more to the minnows like me. Thank you for the patience and for the generosity of sharing your expertise.

To the minnows, I hope you extend your rope of patience when it comes to grasping your personal goals in this platform. Push your limits, know your strength, discover new talents because we will need them as we will be in here for the long haul.
