Using Steemauto. Part 3

in #utopian-io7 years ago

Some days ago I published the first part of this post where I gave a breakdown of what steemauto is all about and how it works. Then two days ago I came up with a backup post where I explained the process of registration. But, it's one thing to be a registered member and another to use the platform in full

Today I will be talking How to use the platform properly...

1. Authenticating Steemauto.

First. When you are logged in to the platform you will be required to authenticate the system so it can carryout certain functions in your absence.
To start, you will have to add @steemauto to your accout's posting autos Today we will be using Steemconnect for this authentication.

First Step: Click on the Steemconnect button as seen in the screen shot below.

Second Step: After clicking on the Steemconncet button, an authorization page will pop-up asking if you really want to authorize Steemauto to use your posting rule. You click "Continue" as seen in the screenshot below.

Third Step: An authentication page will pop-up after clicking "Continue". Once it appears type your steemit username in the first field provided after which you paste your steemit password then you click sign in and you are done with the authentication process. (See screenshot below for illustration)

2. Using Curation Trail.

Step 1: Click on the "Curation Trail" button as seen in the screen shot below.

Step 2: Once one the Curation Trail page, you will be welcome by a long list of Curators all you have to do is scroll down and find your best Curator and click the "follow" button after which a pop-up will appear asking if you are sure just click "Ok". See illustration below.

Step 3: Once you have successfully followed your best curators, just scroll to the top of the page you will find all the curators you have followed as seen in the screenshot below. You can also unfollow, disable a curator or set curation trial commands.

Setting curation trial commands.

Step 1: Once on the curation trial page and you can see the curators you are following, click on the "settings button" under the action column. see Illustration below.

Step 2: A drop down will appear as seen in the screenshot below here you have the liberty to set how you want the system to interact with the curators you follow.

  • You can leave the first field just the way you met it and you will upvote who ever the curator upvote with the same percentage of up vote as the curator did or you pull the plug by the side to set a custom percentage to up vote who ever the curator upvotes.
  • In the second field you can set the delay time. Leaving it at zero makes you upvote any post the curator upvote immediately the upvote was made or you set a custom delay time to wait after the curator upvotes before casting your own vote.
  • Finally the last field is to enable or disable following a curator. All you have to do is pull the plug!

Finally: Click Save Settings and its done!!

That is all for now. We should be discussing how to use "Fan Base" and "Scheduled Post" in our next post.

I also hope I got it right this time @scipio, @flauwy, @shreyasgune and @mcfarhat.
Please do well to correct me where am wrong. THANKS.

Do you want to authorize the Steem account @steemauto to use your posting role?

What does it mean? Will it post on my behalf? And why does it ask for my key? Is that safe?
