RE: Getting Success On Steemhunt
The idea of writing a guide to success on Steemhunt is a pretty good one. However, I had some issues with this guide, and some points where it could improve.
To write a how-to, I think one should generally be experienced and proficient in the topic. Unless I'm mistaken, you've posted two hunts, and neither was a massive success. And even without that, I have disagreements with several of your tips.
"Nice GIF, Good one line description, High quality images, Good Title." None of these make a product cool. Being cool makes a product cool. Being exciting and interesting and worthwhile.
Youtube is huge, and many people post many top-10 videos. You also don't talk about making sure the videos are recent. You don't mention tech blogs and other sources of products. There are so many potential sources for cool products. I would recommend people cultivate niches, as you say, but that would entail doing research beyond a youtube search.
Don't copy descriptions. Don't copy texts. That is literally against the guidelines: "Do not copy and paste from the product’s website."
"The first image should always be GIF." Why? Most posts in the current top 10 don't have GIFs. GIFs can be fine, but they are not a must-have. Why invent rules?
"don't go in very depth because you have to manage 1,000 word limit" 1,000 words is a LOT for a comment. This whole post is only a bit more than 1,000 words.
