Social Media Cards now Integrated into www.gridcoin.science!
I have received comment from a few users pointing out that gridcoin.science (repo) did not generate the nice social media cards you may be used to from Twitter, Facebook, etc. You have almost certainly come across these cards, but may not have been aware of how they are generated. For example, here is a card used on the NASA Twitter:
The card is made up of the image/video, bold title, and description, which are pulled from the meta data of the linked content. Most platforms use a family of og:XXX tags, but Twitter likes to be difficult and has its own set of twitter:XXX tags. Both families are now fully integrated in the gridcoin.science meta data. The end result looks like this:
If you try to share the website on a platform that does not generate a nice card, please reach out to me on Slack (Dutch) or Reddit (Editorial_Meat), right here on Steemit/Utopian, or report the issue on the GitHub repository's issue tracker. I have noted all the issues already submitted, and they will all be addressed in the next release.

Even if this question doesn't belong to this article: What amount of GRC would you recommend to have in the GRC wallet to start solo mining?
It's a perfectly fine place! =)
To stake reliably every few months, a few thousand is needed. This is why new members tend to start researching with the pool, and then shift out once they have reached that level.
However buying some GRC and going solo is valid and could be a fine investment opportunity for users who will not generate large amounts of GRC.

Minor disagreement on the 'few thousand'**, since the update I'm staking nearly monthly with a balance of about 1.5K and another comparable miner (similar RAC, wallet running same times) is staking every 2-3 weeks or so with a balance of 2-3K. This suggests lower balances could stake within the 6 month timeframe.
**But not the 'reliably'. Need more data! :)

Gridcoin.science is an open source website that caters to a specific target audience of the Gridcoin network. Gridcoin.us is another such website, but as the Gridcoin network is decentralised a website is only as 'official' as the creator chooses to label it. Gridcoin.us provides massive quantities of information for existing community members, while gridcoin.science is lighter, catering towards new volunteers. Results have been surprising, as we are already registering hundreds of hits per day with only a 50% bounce rate.

Well... gridcoin.us is the website that is linked in the README of the main project so I guess it can be considered to be "official". Are you in contact with the gridcoin team? Do they know about the website you made? Sorry, I'm not familiar with gridcoin and it's community.
I am indeed, yes. Gridcoin.us will be in the readme for the main repo at it is the site set up by the original creator of the Gridcoin network, who has since left the project. Here is the public launch of gridcoin.science if you would like to get a feel for the community reaction.
