Unfortunately a similar idea was submitted on GitHub. That issue was closed and the PO replied him the following:

Thank you, we plan on adding GPS integration (...)

The implementation of GPS integration is already on their roadmap.
The only difference with your idea is that you suggested to add a shorcut to enable/disable the GPS.
