Good evening steemians, happy break, how are you doing tonight ?? I am very thankful to all of you who have visited my blog, and in my post This time I want to discuss or give a little way to make handicrafts using clay,
Do you know how ??
Let 's Let' s read a few ways that I know and often I use, below:

Understanding Clay :

clay is a silicate base fractional element of silicates less than 4 micrometers in diameter. Clay contains a fine silica and / or aluminum fused. These elements, silicon, oxygen, and aluminum are the elements that make up most of the Earth's crust. Clays are formed from the process of weathering silica rocks by carbonic acid and partly generated from geothermal activity.
Clay forms hard clumps when dry and sticky when wet is exposed to water. This property is determined by the type of clay minerals that dominate it.
Clay minerals are classified according to the layers of silicon oxide and aluminum oxides that form the crystals. Group 1: 1 has a layer of one silicon oxide and one aluminum oxide, while the 2: 1 group has two layers of silicon oxide class flanking one layer of aluminum oxide. The 2: 1 clay minerals have strong elastic properties, shrink while dry and expand when wet. Because of this behavior some types of soil can form wrinkles or "cracked" when dry.

Clay Benefits :

Clay which is hard soil if dry and wet if it is wet, is one of God's gifts for nature that can be utilized for our needs and needs, from bricks, ceramics and jewelry and souvenirs. Can also be used as school craft materials for extra-curricular activities.

Function of clay to make various handicraft product shape / precarious, bottle, flower vase, flower pot, pitcher from soil, etc.
Crafts from clay

There are many objects around us that can be utilized to produce a unique work and high artistic value. Clay is one type of material that can be utilized to be a wide range of crafts. Utilization of land is widely used to produce a multipurpose artwork, or in other words goods or products produced not only has aesthetic value but also has benefits for everyday life.

But there are also works that aim only for the display, so in the process of making more emphasis on the value of aesthetics not on the use. One example is the work of masks, clay masks have high artistic value because it is made wholeheartedly to produce works of high artistic value.

Handicraft made of clay has many benefits in accordance with the function of the craft itself. For example, clay dishes can be used for cutlery, flower vases can be used to place flowers, paintings or displays can be used as a display at home or in the classroom.

Philosophy :

The best time for us to make clay is when it is still wet, that's when we can easily make the desired shape, whether it is vase, teapot, cup, flower, etc. When the clay has started to dry it will be very difficult for us to change its initial shape, there will be eroded of course.
