Node.js Translation to Spanish - 1081 words (Part 38)

in #utopian-io6 years ago

Hello, this is my 38th open source contribution for Utopian and DaVinci as translator. I have been translating different Node.js Files during the past few months. I continued translating "process.md" file and I completely finished. I've found out that object process has a lot of utilities that make Node.js a very mutable program and I must say that was a really awesome file..

I work with an extensive team of translators team whose performance has been excellent. By this time a 46% of this huge project has been translated in just a few months; yes, a very fast advancing through this project.

I invite you to read this translation report for more information about this interesting file. Also, you can read my previous reports to have much more information about all of the files I've translated. The next post will ontain information about other files.

Project Details

Node.js is an open-source, cross-platform JavaScript run-time environment that executes JavaScript code outside of a browser. It lets developers use JavaScript to write Command Line tools and for server-side scripting to produce dynamic web page content before the page is sent to the user's web browser. Consequently, Node.js represents a "JavaScript everywhere" paradigm,[6] unifying web application development around a single programming language, rather than different languages for server side and client side scripts.

Node.js

It looks difficult to understand at first, but let me explain it with the next example.

Imagine that you have been developing a new android app that uses the APIs from Google Maps and Twitter. When testing the app, you realize that both APIs are written in different languages and you must change one of them to make it work, but that's a lot of work and goes against the reasons to use an API. Node.js is the solution to problems like this because it allows the union between different programming languages without affecting its performance.

I decided to translate this project because I'm an engineering student and innovation is my passion; I love creating solutions to problems like this. Also, I like sharing information and a way to do it is translating the content of a big project like this so people around the world can access to it and share it too.

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview

It was mentioned before that Node.js is a process, and that's an important feature that we must analyze carefully. The previous posts were about process module, it means an entire module just for methods and functions referent to the behavior of Node.js process. Also I have explained some of these methods and functions, those that were more important to me.

This time I want to talk about "exit codes" that are numeric parameters that inform Node.js when and how must exit. You can infer that there are various exit codes, nonetheless "Node.js will normally exit with a 0 status code when no more async operations are pending.".I invite you to read all the information about the exit codes because some of them warn about failures or uncompleted functions; it means that exit codes can be interpreted as warnings in some cases.

The following image shows all the exit codes with their corresponding meaning:

  • Language

The original language of this change log is English and it was translated into Spanish, which is my native language. I have experience translating in projects like Loopring wallet and Yapbam. These projects make me grow and learn a lot about open source projects.

English

<0>7</0> <1>Internal Exception Handler Run-Time Failure</1> - There was an uncaught exception, and the internal fatal exception handler function itself threw an error while attempting to handle it.

Spanish

<0>7</0> <1>Falla de Tiempo de Ejecución de Manejador de Excepciones Internas</1> - Hubo una excepción no capturada, y la función interna manejadora de excepciones fatales arrojó un error al intentar manejarla.

English

Invoked without an argument, the current mask is returned, otherwise the umask is set to the argument value and the previous mask is returned.

Spanish

Invocado sin un argumento, se devuelve la máscara actual; de lo contrario, la umask se establece en el valor del argumento y se devuelve la máscara anterior.

English

Node.js v0.8 allowed for longer process title strings by also overwriting the <0>environ</0> memory but that was potentially insecure and confusing in some (rather obscure) cases.

Spanish

Node.js v0.8 permitía strings de título de proceso más largas al sobrescribir también la memoria de <0>environ</0> pero eso era potencialmente inseguro y confuso en algunos casos (bastante oscuros).

English

This can be near instantaneous in the case of output to a file, but under high system load, pipes that are not being read at the receiving end, or with slow terminals or file systems, its possible for the event loop to be blocked often enough and long enough to have severe negative performance impacts.

Spanish

Esto puede ser casi instantáneo en el caso del output a un archivo, pero con una carga alta del sistema, los pipes que no están siendo leídos en el extremo receptor, o con terminales o sistemas de archivos lentos, es posible que el bucle de eventos sea bloqueado con la suficiente frecuencia o el tiempo suficiente para tener graves impactos negativos en el rendimiento.

English

This is a standard POSIX practice, since exit codes are defined to be 7-bit integers, and signal exits set the high-order bit, and then contain the value of the signal code.

Spanish

Esta es una práctica estándar de POSIX, como los códigos de salida están definidos para ser enteros de 7 bits, y las salidas por señal establecen el bit de orden mayor, y entonces contienen el valor del código de señal.

Greetings, @navx. Thanks for submitting your contribution!

  • The presentation and contents of your post satisfy the requirements for a complete evaluation of your contribution.
  • The translated text fits coherently the general meaning and use of the enlisted strings.
  • You talked about the importance of exit codes, which are basic to understand the behavior of Node before certain implementations and, therefore, help developers to deduce how it can be improved. Yup...
