Apache Cordova or what was called previously Apache Callback or PhoneGap. More specifically, It is a framework which is classified as an open source project. It allows users to create several applications for different platforms (As for Android and IOS....).

Applications developed thanks to this tool are hybrid, that is mean that they are not really native, neither based on HTML language or such an equivalent one.

This being my third contribution to the project Cordova, I must admit that the new versionof the Crowdin platform was tricky to deal with. But working on the first few strings, you getused to the whole new mechanism. One of the challenges that I came by -as usual, I guess-was the terms between <0> and </0>, some of them are translatable and some aren’t(concatenated technical terms) which creates a bit of confusion of whether keep the original
version or actually translate them.

This contribution’s difficulty resides in the use of technical terms and others rather morerelated to their context than to the general use. My research led me to choose what I saw would fit in the correct context imposed by the project’s specifications. Some examples areas follows :

Quirks:

Quirks, in general, describe an unusual habit or part of someone's personality, or something that is strange and unexpected: a weird behavior; furthermore related to human behavior. But in the IT field, a quirk is an odd specificity or a characteristic of certain software.

Asynchronous:

The French translation is rather similar to the English version of the term but brief
research had to be done in order to get the right meaning. Used in communication (as between computers) in which there is no timing requirement for transmission and in which the start of each character is individually signaled by the transmitting device.
