Saint Valentine or officially known as Saint Valentine of Rome, is a 3rd-century Roman saint which was celebrated on February 14 and commonly associated with "courtly love." He is also the patron of love, young people and happy marriage. When he was imprisoned, he also converted 46 of guards family to christianity. One legend of Saint Valentine is when he healed the blind child.
But do you know? The festival of hearts that was sweet and smooth we know is actually dark and bloody.

From February 13-15, the Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia where men sacrificed a goat or dog and they whipped women with the skin of the animals they had just slain. Well actually, young women would line up for the men to hit them. The women believes it would made them fertile.
It is nice to celebrate Valentine's Day when you know what's behind the occassion.
