The HusBus Adventures Part 8 - Time to leave Tarragona!

in #vanlife7 years ago (edited)

We woke up the following morning and we decided that we would head off. Thats the beauty of living on wheels, you can be ready to move in a short amount of time.
Tarragona was dead, it was winter. The Mex had been acting a bit shady and then had dissapeared with the 2 spanish guys with the van key when we went to go get smoke for the road from Black Jesus after some breakfast. Oh Yeh thats right we went to Jesus' hut and i cant remember exactly but the Mex walked of with the keys with the 2 spanish guys and in a direction that we had never walked before. I was shouting at them to come back but they didnt stop walking and it hit me that we were a 20 mins walk from the carpark and the gut feeling kicked in saying that the Mex was planning to get back before me and Ryan and steal my van. He had started acting weird even a couple of days before as soon as we got to Tarragona and we had even decided already that we didnt like his company. Neither of us knew him but were beginning to and it wasnt on our vibes at all.

We ran back wondering if the 3 had made it there before us after they had took a different route, but luckily it was all still locked up and we sat and waited sat panting in the shade on the floor and then sure enough the others appeared. I went mental that he ignored my calls whilest walking off across the animal graveyard with the keys when we were heading back to leave. I told him straight to just take his things out that he wasnt welcome to come along on the trip anymore.
Brutal honesty is the best policy. I know my gut feelings :)

It felt good getting out of Tarragona, and the mood was now somehow much more fluffy.

More space in the front and some silence inbetween conversation. The road lay ahead of us, we were just looking for sunshine and had no idea where we were going apart from south. Theres again not many photos remaining of the time between Tarragona and our next stop which was Valencia plus I have no memory of it, apart from this memory..

We went the old highway road along the coast and soon came across kms of Manderin trees. Of course at the first glance at each other I just stopped the van thinking they were oranges and we jumped out to see if there was anyone around. What the fuck would I know, this was the first time I'd ever seen anything orange, growing on a tree! ORANGE JUICE!

We can sell pancakes and fresh pressed orange juice!

We took anything that could hold as many "oranges" as possible. We were so fresh to travelling we thought we could even sell them easy hahahaha. Check out the hoard!!

We drive around another 10mins then we see something quite random. We had already seen empty chairs on the side of the street and was wondering how they ended up there, always standing in the normal chair condition. We had chairs already and anyway the back was now full of manderins.

We were quite surprised to then drive up on two african women sat on some other chairs and they eve had a little fire going. It seemed this was a stretch of road was the orange light district of east coast spain. Anyway we had to go have a chat for a laugh so we rocked up along side them and I rolled the window down..

They were very friendly but 2 euro something wasnt enough even for a blowjob apparently and they didnt even except The Mandarins. So we had no choice but to drive on :)

Valencia

As we were on the coastal road we just ended up arriving at Valencia beach. There wasnt a ghost in sight. If you ever want to go to Spain when its quiet to relax, go for the winter time. It felt completely ok to just park on the road directly next to the beach and toilet block and so we did.

We had absolutely no diesel left and had already used one liter of new cooking oil so that we got to Valencia. We fucked around on the beach for a bit and then we set off to find the city and to explore. It was early evening and after walking which seemed far we learnt that we were in a straight line to the city. All we had was Manderins. The sun was going down and so we went to the city after going up the coast a bit.

Heres some random objects to be found where we had parked up :)

Everything was grey, no sunshine yet!

The day was ending but we still went to the city anyway, we didnt have to wake up at anytime in the morning. And since the Shop Rave we were asking everyone where a party was. Everywhere was just very very quiet though and we had parked far from the city. We spent a good part of the night just walking around, we found people in the center! Later we returned and slept many hours and decided to get fresh for the next day. Heres some photos of Valencia!

straight on to the city!

It took a while but im back on it now with the HusBus Adventures. I will do just one chapter a week as its so Epic to recall, find all the pics and then make the post!

Cool small world! Dam we could have used a shower back then, this was years ago back in 2011, im blogging my travels :) I remember it was very long! Like the longest city I ever walked through hahaha! We just stayed some nights , then next chapter we met some guys under a bridge in the long thin park, theres a cool bridge because the echo gets thrown back and forth, well wierd!

Valencia was epic, alot of things there , water fountains and park life :) You been there long?
Its full of rich people , well we just saw this part of it i guess! there was a football match on which was madness. ha , great you helped jog my memory..

The beach and the city are originally two different things but Valencia grown so much! So happy you had a great time here. We first moved here 10 years ago. It's our favorite spot.
