Orlando's Dandelion Communitea Cafe
Welcome to Orlando's haven for delicious organic vegan food!
Located in downtown its artsy curb appeal speaks for itself.
Inside they offer a wide array of loose organic tea, coffee, yerba mate, and honey for sale.
Everything is available to order, as well as a fridge full of kombuchas, coconut water, beer, cider, kefir, and juices!
For those who love a good drink on draft they have a selection of local craft beers and kombucha on tap!
So, onto the food!
On Mondays they offer a $6 entree called the Giddy Up. It comes as either a bowl or a wrap and is served on a bed of spring mix, grain mix or both. It's topped with vegan chili, nacho cheese and crumbled blue corn tortilla chips, and comes with a choice of sides.
The hero of this meal is the Green Goddess dressing. Although it does cost one more dollar, it's so worth it! And anyway a $7 large portion of organic food is still great value.
Tip: if you love the Green Goddess dressing as much as the rest of us, and or you're sharing, order a 6oz portion which comes in a to go container. It also makes great salad dressing to use at home! Plus it's always cheaper to buy in bulk 😁
Featured here is the Giddy Up, with both greens and grains, and a side of hummus. The white sauce in the back of the picture is where I drizzled my Green Goddess before I remembered to take the picture! It's so good I got distracted!
For drinks we ordered a Tea of the Day, which is the only drink option with free refills, a local amber beer and a cup of Earl Grey hot tea.
There are lots of options when it comes to seating. You can see the outdoor area in the first picture and inside there are several areas including a comfy back room with a piano!
Here's my daughter in front of our table with my mom and @arevolution in the background.
The seating in the back is nice if you want a more intimate dining experience away from the noise of a busy restaurant.
All of the art on the walls is done by local artists and is available for purchase.
Once you've finished your delicious organic meal you can spend some time in the Buddha Garden. This is what the entrance looks like:
It's a cute grassy area with a firepit in the center and features a real live Bohdi Tree! Which if you dont know is the tree that Buddha sat under while gaining his enlightenment.
Every new and full moon they hold drum circles and different vendors sell artisian crafts like jewelry, instruments, crystals, and sage.
