The vegetable vendor's day begins long before sunrise. While the rest of the world is asleep, he braves the biting cold or rain to reach the vegetable market. From there, he selects fresh spinach, fenugreek, bottle gourd, zucchini, and other seasonal vegetables. His main goal is to provide his customers with fresh and high-quality produce.
His Appearance and Demeanor
The vegetable vendor usually arranges the vegetables on his cart or in his basket in a very artistic way. The deep green vegetables, red tomatoes, and yellow carrots make his cart a colorful sight. He is easily identifiable by his distinctive voice, which can be heard from one corner of the street to the other. The vegetable vendor is often friendly; he haggles with the women of the neighborhood and sometimes even suggests which vegetables are particularly good that day.
