Manteles individuales | Las 3R-S30W1 | DIY Recycled Table Placemat.

Assalamu Alaikum hope all my dear Steemit family and Venezolanos Steem community are well. Today I am going to participate in a great creative challenge of Steemit Challenge Season-30. This beautiful challenge is organized by the esteemed @lunasilver. The main objective of this challenge is to Reduce,Reuse and Recycle means using old or unused things in new ways and being aware of the environment. So today I made a beautiful Table Placemat (Manteles individuales) using scraps of old cloth.

My sewing experience .I have been learning and doing tailoring for about 5-6 years. The beginning was just a hobby. Ever since childhood, when I saw new designs of clothes, I wanted to make them myself. From that interest, I slowly started learning sewing.Over time this work has become more than just a hobby for me. Now I make clothes of my own designs and also sew clothes of our neighbours, relatives and friends. Alhamdulillah, from a small hobby it has turned into a small profession for me today. Sewing is my favorite. Especially when you can create something new with old pieces of cloth, there is a different joy. As it reduces wastage, also one can express one's creativity.I love this challenge because it is similar to my work with the idea of recycling.

Materials Needed

• scraps of cloth.
• scissors.
• sewing machine.
• yarn.
• Iron (for ironing clothes).

Step : 01

First I selected some old fabric pieces. These were leftover fabrics from some previous sewing work. They are great to use for recycling.

After that I have ironed the cloths nicely so that the cloths are even and easy to cut.

Step : 03

Then I cut the cloths into equal size squares. I have used two color fabrics here so that the design looks nice.

Place the cut cloths on the table of the sewing machine. I made a beautiful check design by matching two fabric rail pieces of two colors. The pink and yellow fabrics looked so beautiful together.

After that, I joined all the clothes one by one with sewing machine. Gradually the whole design became one big cloth.

After attaching all the fabrics I stitched the design above. It makes the whole work look more interesting.

The recycled table placemat I made looks so beautiful after all the work is done. I am very happy to be able to make such a useful item with scraps of old cloth.By doing this kind of work we can reuse old clothes without wasting them.

I really enjoyed participating in this challenge. Because it is not only a creative work, but also makes us aware of the importance of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.I have made a lot of things out of scraps before. I love making new things with small pieces of fabric. As it does not waste unnecessary clothes, it also gives an opportunity to create new designs. To be honest, it's fun to make new things with scraps.
Besides, this kind of work helps us to increase our patience, creativity and efficiency. So I think it is a very good practice to reuse old or unused clothes instead of throwing them away.Hope you like this little recycle job I made.
