New street art: it's not very good but better than what was there before

in #vietnam4 days ago

For the most part, the taggers and street artists in Da Nang are pretty polite, or if they are not that they are scared enough of getting busted that they don't do their craft on land that they are not allowed to... FOR THE MOST PART.

now, this new one I found the other day is on a plot of land where they rapidly tore down the old structure and then just left an abandoned plot of land. I never really understand this practice. I know a guy that had a barber on this land and he was given 12 hours notice to get out. Then they began demo on the land the following day. Then proceeded to do absolutely nothing with the land for half a year. What's with the urgency?

Well as is often the case the abandoned trash dump of land ended up getting things sprayed on it, most of which are guys selling weed on Telegram and some phone number that apparently was a call girl service.

Then one night in the recent past someone came by probably under cover of darkness and sprayed over that.

This is a pretty good example of what I dislike about tags or even worse whoever put the red paint crap up there first. This is rather talentless. The yellow one that came later at least has SOME talent to it but still, not very much. This is so common in the tag world that I don't really understand why anyone likes it but they are the most common sort of tags anywhere in the world.

on the top left there it looks like perhaps that painter was going to add a bit more to it but either ran out of paint (which seems to be the case) or they were chased off. Mostly people don't care about this sort of spray because that spot of land is a trash dump already and as soon as they get the permits or whatever is holding them up, this is going to be a construction site like the rest of the area.

This must be the callsign of whoever painted this and well, what does it even say? I can see a "26" in there which is obviously the year, but what about the rest of it?

In the first image you can get an idea about how small this spot of land is and as tends to be the case, this new yellow addition is likely going to invite others to come and follow suit.

I don't really think it looks good but it is better than the trash that was there before. At least "yellow guy" has some talent to speak of whereas the other jerks are just people with a can of paint- which by the way is quite difficult to acquire in Da Nang probably specifically for this reason.

It's opposite an overprice and pretentious coffeeshop so that just makes me even more ok with it :)
