Da Nang Food Tour - Delicious Local Flavors

in #vietname2 months ago (edited)

I’ve shared a lot of food that I’ve cooked myself, but during my time in Da Nang, I’ve also discovered so many amazing local dishes at really reasonable prices. So if you’re planning a trip here, come along with me and check out some must-try foods around this beautiful city.

Da Nang is a beach city, so the first thing that comes to mind is… seafood, of course! And trust me, seafood here is fresh, diverse, and super tasty. Take it with a cold beer, and you’ve got a perfect local experience, you just can’t say no 😂

How about some fresh oysters with green mustard and lime? Briny, tangy, and so refreshing. Pair it with some beer, what a treat right 😀Locals like to drink Larue Beer or Huda beer.

Crabs and snails, a must for any seafood lover.

My personal favorite is chip chip clams, small but flavorful, and incredibly addictive. Jellyfish salad is so crunchy, light, and perfect as a starter. A combo that I often order.

And don’t forget squid, tender and juicy when grilled, fried or boiled!

Seafood in Da Nang is usually a big, shared meal with family or friends. You order a variety of dishes, drink together, chit chat together, and just enjoy the moment. It’s all about the experience as much as the food.

There are so many kind of seafood here as well as many ways to cook it, but for me, the simplest way is often the best because it preserves the fresh, natural flavors. Of course, if you find it a bit plain, there are plenty of other options to make it more visually appealing and delicious with different sauces. No matter how you want it to be cooked, it’s always really tasty

Da Nang isn’t just seafood, there are also amazing everyday Vietnamese dishes that are just as memorable. I would like to introduce Bun Bo (Beed noodles).

The broth is rich, thick, and packed with flavor, simmered for hours with beef bones and a mix of aromatic ingredients. Tender slices of beef, fresh herbs, and pickled shallots and carrots make it a perfect bowl of comfort.

Some places even serve Bun Bo with big bone chunks, which is just next-level delicious!!

Another must-try, Mì Quảng (Quang noodles)

Mi Quang has flat, thick noodles topped with pork, shrimp, eggs, beef, or even catfish and some soup that simmers from the toppings.

Served with fresh vegetables, peanuts, and crispy rice crackers, it’s a combination of textures and flavors that will make your mouth water just thinking about it, like me right now just looking at it 😂

And last but not least, don’t skip this local favorite! Cơm gà (chicken rice)

Da Nang has two popular versions: deep-fried chicken or chicken salad style. The rice is cooked in the chicken broth, making it flavorful and fragrant, while the chicken is tender and juicy. Both versions are delicious and a real treat.

Sometimes there will be a creation for chicken rice, it’s like chicken sticky rice on a big tray to share. That’s so yummy!

There’s still so much more to explore, but I’ll save the rest for another post. There are just too many good foods to fit in one!

So, see you in the next post. Sending love and good vibes from Da Nang!
