We Should Change The Way We Vote
The vote is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have - John Lewis
Voting is boring. That's the reality. Especially if you truly believe the subject you're voting is also boring. I'm thinking particularly of governmental voting, which tends to be far removed from play and fun and laughter.
This is the issue with millenial voters. Aside from being ignorant about voting or polling, these young people obviously too lazy to do anything except checking their gadget and working from their laptop. The problem is we need to attract their intention.
The good thing is, tools like mentimeter.com or vote.id allow them to vote on something in more meaningful and fun ways.
With Mentimeter, you can create your live voting when you are speaking in front of other people and asking for their votes, right away. It's an anonymous voting so people will feel secure to vote on their choices. Mentimeter will then show live charts which changes dynamically based on the incoming votes.
Vote.id is a different story. You can create your own votes based on any topics possible, like what is the best shoes brand or who do you think the worst president ever. This voting will always open for votes forever, as long as you are not close it.
Those just a few tools to make voting fun, to create more engaging voting topics that better reflects people's lives. This way we can attract millennials and younger people to care more about the importance to vote for their future.
