See What I See--And Alone
Florida is a great place to visit and to live. There are many things to see and do each day as we are walking and seeing the sights. The photo above is one such place that looks to me to be "alligator habitat." And I do know that there is an alligator or two in that area. I have seen them.
Some of you that are viewing this will remember my former life.
1,000 miles away from Florida. It is so soothing to the soul to have memories.
This is what I can go back to if I will be true to myself. I love the land. It is what I grew up on and have lived a good part of my life being surrounding by. See what you think.
And I can be very active there. Lots of work to do. But, I enjoy clearing and cleaning up the land to a showplace looking property.
But I have a friend that wants to move to the Las Vegas and Laughlin Nevada area. It is a state that permits free use of cannabis. I like the idea of freedom of choice. I am not a user of cannabis now. But, if I was there and it was available and legal. I might indulge some. If it is properly administered to our bodies. It has some very good health benefits I am told.
The photo below can be found at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Vegas
But, while all that is good and I really like to dream a little. What I see and have here is very enjoyable too.
This is the base of the bridge that the sign is referring to over the canal.
Under the bridge must be a good place to stay. It looks like it is being used some of the time for place to stay.
Since I am not without substance for now at least. I have wondered how it would be just to wonder around and see the sights without be chained to a particular location. I don't think I could run as Tom Hanks did in Forrest Gump though. Here is a clip of that. Notice how I wrote That?

Are we chained in or chained out? Ha
The memory of passing through this life and the dimension of it can be remembered. Such as this sign on the trail bench.
I never grow tired of looking at this. It is like the pathway of life. We see some twists and turns as we move along. But, we have so much to see and take into our thoughts and to remember.
Why three engines? I don't know. But they sure do look nice lined up next to each other.
If one of the engines fail to start or run. Two are still available to get back to safety.
I know. The radios can be used to call someone to get us to where we want to go.
But, I like to move under my own power too.
Is this a blue heron? This one is very shy. It soon flew away.
The setting sun is in the distance behind the clouds. While that is nice. I would rather think of rising sun now.
But, let us look at what we have for now.
While it is late and getting darker. Some people still take the time to enjoy the trail and the canal.
It is good exercise for the body and the mind.
It is time to finish up my work and post this for you to see. My walks and seeing for you will
continue as long as I am here. Where I will be in a year or two. I don't know.
We have so much to think about and plan for. And much of that is because of Steemit and the other cryptos.
We live in exciting times for sure.
Closing out with a video is such a nice way to end this time of my life that I will post for you to see.
You all have so much to offer to us on Steemit as well. Be sure to put your life and what you see here as well.
Are we "alone" yet?

Thank you and many thanks to Steemit. Our future can and will be bright.
All we have to do is believe. Can we do that? We must..........................
Francis
I think you run on the footpath road along side of the canal on daily basis and then compose your thought with the photos and publish it here and I really like this idea.
Thank you.
Its like I am reading your diary and turning the pages on day to day basis.
So nice thought of "walkwithme"
Thank you @francisk.....steem on and stay blissful....
Upvoted for the Heart video alone.
Wonderful pictures. Vegas certainly is a different world from what we enjoy here in Florida. Of course, the land has hills, something that, other than the country landfill, isnt here either.
There is a lot to love about Florida (weather and water being the two big things) but the land is kind of drab. That said, there is an advantage to flatness....we have some of the most beautiful skies (and you can see them since the trees dont block it out).
So there is always a trade off.
Oh and it is a bitch when the wind starts blowing here.
You are right. It can get a little windy here. Ha
I do like to travel on level and flat ground. It may not be as pretty as hills
and mountains in the distance. But, it makes it much easier to roll to where
we want to be.
I do like that food and the excitement of Vegas though. That would the last place
to run out of anything. As long as supplies move. They will be moving in that direction
I think.
And the land in the high tax state of Ohio is OK. It is moving away from being a good place to be.
Socialism is taking over. Control and taxes are not what we want. We all want freedom of choice.
Such as what cryptos are going to give to all of us.
Thank you
Francis
Flat ground makes it a lot easier to walk...that is for sure. Walking up and down those big hills is a pain in the tush.
Yes, I am originally from NY, talk about the move you mentioned, they did that decades ago. I dont know how people can afford to live in that state. Everything is priced through the roof.
In the end, hard to be the sunshine state...no state income tax...plenty of beaches...rather economical way to live.
Still too many laws but that is expected. Until blockchain starts to compete with government, that is what we are stuck will...it will diminish over time.
I like your remarks. I am onboard for all of your comments.
Smaller government with less taxes.
I do believe in a use tax though. Which we don't have.
But the use/tax could be private just as well as government.
For now. We can choose which state bests suits our thoughts.
Nevada is an income tax free state too. Plus cannabis choice.
I am not a smoker of cigarettes or cannabis. Never have been.
But, in my old age.
I might want some of the pain killing features of cannabis.
And I hate to have to ask someone if it is OK with them.
Ugh on that.
Thank you
Fancis
Yes but at least now, in Florida, you can get a doctor to give you a Rx for it and get it from the Cannabis shop.
That is a big step....perhaps it will be on the ballot for full legalization in 2020....
You would think we would learn that prohibition doesnt work....
I would hope so. I am not a doctor kind of guy. Unless I have to be.
Many years will go by before I see a doctor. I have one on my list should I need one. So, the cannabis law wouldn't be much of an advantage for me unless I changed my habits.
Doctors want patients to be dependent on them.
Then, maybe they will prescribe something that suits them. Ha
Doesn't matter. For now. All I need is food and my supplements.
I like that. I don't want to have any prescription drugs to keep me alive. But, if I have to. I will.
Thank you
Francis
I understand...nor am I.
But from what I hear, you go in and just start mentioning all that is wrong with you....you keep going until there is something to latch onto that will get past any inquiries....depression, back issues, anxiety, etc.....
Kind of a ruse it sounds like but hey, since I think it absurd that it is illegal anyway, I have no problem with this.
The huge fire and the blue skies are my favourite:) I think that is a heron! Wow, you got so close!! Thank you for the walk <3
Thank you for telling me of what you saw interesting. If I see a lot of interest in the land again.
I may go back and let that be my home. I am still thinking about where I want to be.
Francis
A move? Very exciting. What other places are you thinking about as well?
Well. We have more options now than we had before. I have had land in Ohio for many years. Not a lot, but enough to have lots of elbow room. It does get cold in the winter though.
Our place here in Florida is a nice place. It isn't right to just stay here two or three months out of the year. It is too expensive for one thing. Then storm care and yard care are another problem at times.
We have a young family couple that want to be here and find work to live.
So, why not here? That is what they thought too.
Another is a friend wants to move to the Las Vegas area. I might consider that.
We have options. What is best for the present time is yet to be decided.
Thank you
Francis
I've always heard that BOAT stands for "Bust Out Another Thousand". Everyone that I know and have known to have a boat has complained about the expensive upkeep and maintenance to them. I would love to have one if I lived a little closer to a lake. Right now were about 45 minutes away which isn't too bad but still.
Yes on the "another thousand." If a lake or river isn't close. That would be a lot of time and expense.
I think I can remember @carolina-girl saying that she liked it where she was.
"Feet locked in concrete" kind of thinking. I guess you will be where you are now. lol
Thank you
Francis
Right.
,
My friend @FrancISK
Florida I hear about it as a different state where the highlands of hills and plateaus have good weather and clean and beautiful water
I wish to visit her someday
It is a good place to visit. Choose the winter though. And stay south of Interstate 4
That is what I would do anyway.
Thank you
Francis
Love the photos, Francis! You have the best of both worlds. You have Florida for the winter, where it is warm, blue skies and sunshine. Then in summer, you have the freedom and space of your land. It also gets pretty windy here. We get the trade winds...
The last few years here in Florida where I am have been warm. Some cold days. But not many
But we plan to move out of here later. When is yet to be determined.
Thank you
Francis
Where would you go, Francis? I thought you liked it where you are?
Ha ha. You are so right. Where would I go. No one wants me. So that limits the options. Right? lol
Pat is getting ready to leave me in 2 or 3 weeks. She is going to Ohio to her daughters and grandkids place.
For a month or more. I will be here with Granddaughter Katie and her boyfriend all the time she is gone. If she comes back that is. She might just stay. We have stayed in Ohio during the summer many times. Not every year. But most years. It varies on the time spent there.
And my longtime friend is wanting to move to Las Vegas Nevada this year if he can.
His mother isn't very well. I know he hates to leave her. So that might be put off for a while.
I would like to live in Las Vegas and Laughlin Nevada area. I have been there many times in the past. But not in recent years.
So, I might be here another month or two. We will have to see. Katie and Matt would stay here regardless of what we do. So that is the answer to your question I think.
Oh, I will add here. Matt is a fighter. It would not be a good idea to challenge the kids. He has been at it for a lot of his young years. He is still young though.
Thank you
Francis
Hello, Francis . I love all your stories about Florida and all your walks around the neighborhood. But now You've shown one of those pictures where there's a big bonfire. I can remember that wonderful time when You talked about Your life before moving to Florida. I remember an iron horse and a lot of interesting pictures. It's a pleasant nostalgia. Today I loved the shy blue heron . It's so cute. Thank you, my friend, for another nice walk :)
My hat is off to you madlenfox
You are such a faithful follower. How can I not be so pleased each time I see you visit to my Steemit blog.
Thank you so much. Yes, I may be doing a little different in the future. The how and where is yet to be determined. I can hope it is all good though.
Francis
Being a "country boy" on the inside I remember the "land" pictures well. Planning a move to town myself in the near future and it is sad in some ways. Had lot's of good times here especially when family came on the Fourth. Don't know how that will work out.
I don't mind being in town such as it is here. I am on the outer fringes of the houses. And we do have some open land and lots around us. Parks are nearby and the trail is not that far away. I can walk there easily.
Thank you
Francis
Nice pictures.
Wow. It is getting hard to find you guys. Did you ever look at the long list.
I know I miss some. It isn't my intention. I am covered up.
Thank you
Francis
