The warring times

We, as old as two wars, here have stood
Beneath the white and sheltering apple tree,
Listening to the night's dark violins;
Have paused from time to time
Among the fantasy of wild orchises
To watch the painted birds daub the bright sky
With fugue of feathers in a breathless sweep.

We as old two wars

War is as old as man. Since the beginning of time, we fought and killed one another be it for territories, women or resources. Some times during ancient times a whole village will be wiped out just so they can never take revenge on the other village.
For thousands of years this has raged on and like a snowball down the hill the scales has grown to epic proportions. We started with one on one, then it became family against family. Soon after it was village against village. When civilizations grew and we setup forts and communities then it became city against city. When kingdoms arose, conquerors ravaged the land to expand territory or up until they meet a force as strong as them.
Technology shaped our wars and so has empires. Soon it was colonialism and slavery became world wide and before we know it. A war encompassing the world came. After the ravaging two world wars, here we are again.
And this time. This may be the war to end all wars.
