Why is my washing machine making a loud banging noise during spin cycle?

So my washer has suddenly decided to become a full-on rock drummer. Every time it hits the spin cycle, it starts banging around like it’s trying to escape the laundry room. I’m kinda scared it’s gonna launch itself through the wall one of these days. It used to run smooth, no drama, and now it’s acting possessed. I’ve checked for loose change, blankets stuck on one side, all that obvious stuff. Nothing. I can’t afford for this thing to die on me right now, so I’m really hoping someone here has been through this and can point me in the right direction.

That usually points to the drum being unbalanced or something in the suspension starting to wear out. Double-check the machine is level on the floor, and try a smaller, evenly spread load. If it keeps happening even when empty, it could be shock absorbers or bearings, which are common but fixable issues.

Your drum might’ve come loose or the suspension rods could be worn out — had the same chaos with mine. Turned out one of the shock absorbers was toast. I found these guys at https://smartappliancecare.co.za and they sorted it fast without charging an arm and a leg. They’re local, know their stuff, and didn’t try to upsell anything. Might be worth giving them a shout before things get worse.
