water (categories and types)
Though water may appear as same to various individuals,Only an hydrology expert can easily figure out this minute difference in water and various categories which they belong. The first category of water here is
Freshwater: they are naturally occurring water on earth surface in ice caps, glaciers, icebergs, ponds, lakes, rivers, streams. Its also defined as water having low salt concentration usually less than 1%.
Source
only 2.5% of water on earth surface is freshwater,98.8% is found in ice and groundwater, less than 0.3% of the freshwater is in rivers, lakes ,and atmosphere. Freshwater can either be hard or soft water.Sea Water: this is also known as salt water, and refers to water from the sea and ocean. Its heavier(denser) than freshwater because of the higher conductivity and penetrating power of chloride ion through surface films of metals.
Source
The rate of corrosion of sea water is controlled by chloride content, oxygen availability and temperature. The world has approximately 35grams of salt dominated by sodium and chloride salt.
3.Distilled water: Its also called demineralized water. These waters are completely or almost free of dissolved minerals. Demineralization can be done through distillation, deionization, membrane filtration, electro-dialysis.

4.Brackish water: Its more saline than freshwater but not as saline as seawater. It result from mixture of sea and freshwater.
Source
Its commonly found in estuaries. It contains between 0.5 and 30 grams of salt per liter. Example of brackish water are estuaries, mangroves, swamps ,brackish sea and lakes.
5.Boiler feed waters:
Source
This is the liquid phase of steam in a boiler. The term is also applied to raw water intended for use in boilers.
6.Potable water:
Source
Its drinking water and any water fit for human consumption, Its water that is safe enough to be consumed by human.
