Spiritual seeker: God's people avoid evil ways, and they protect themselves by watching where they go. Proverbs 16:17

The Book of Proverbs is a sapiential book dedicated to the education of those who are spiritual seekers and devotees of the highest. While virtue is important for achieving personal goals, wisdom, which is essentially science and the most perfect virtue, is the best and most advisable thing if one wishes to be blessed and happy.
Wisdom, by its very nature, is like a hidden treasure that must be discovered, and like a Russian matryoshka doll in which one doll is inside another; thus, wisdom is a treasure that hides other treasures within her, and this fact must be recognized if a spiritual seeker with intelligence and understanding wants to find truth and spiritual power.
And so the Book of Proverbs, written by King Solomon, among other advice, left this little pearl of wisdom for meditation and take into account: "God's people avoid evil ways, and they protect themselves by watching where they go" Proverbs 16:17.
This spiritual teaching is directly related to Psalm 1, the Psalm of the Two Paths, which teaches, among other things: "The righteous are guided and protected by the LORD, but the evil are on the way to their doom" Psalm 1:6. Psalm 1 explains that there are two paths for man, righteousness and sin, and in response to this, two retributions: blessing and curse. While the path can be freely chosen, the corresponding retribution cannot.
The people of God avoid evil, explains the proverb, and this is because the spiritual gift of fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), which is the source of common sense, prevents these kinds of people from making error a habit or a custom. It could be said that common sense is the great guide of righteous men, of those who follow the path that pleases God. The path of evil is a dark, uncertain path, full of destructive surprises, and this is something that the man who fears God detests, because in the end, destructiveness, injustice, and chaos only leave emptiness and suffering.
With this, the Book of Proverbs leaves the idea that the best path for men is the path of wisdom, a progressive, edifying, and gradual path to that truth which is God.
