Steemit is finding its way. A lot will be learned (and indeed already has been learned) during the beta phase. The get-rich-quick crowd comes in and leaves just as quickly. We shouldn't be concerned with those who have short term motives.

I do wonder if upvote worth should rise by things other than mainly how much Steem Power you have. Those with practically no money invested should still be able to give at least $0.01 when they like a post (Reputation should have a higher weight in the calculation). I imagine it is discouraging to the vast majority of Steemit users who often upvote only to see $0.00.. reminding them their contribution doesn't even register.
