Regarding the last panel, while I wanted to give an explanation on why the police weren't fighting the aliens, I also wanted to show that a lot of cops are regular people who weren't always cops. There has to be tons of cops who partied their ass off at hippie festivals, punk rock concerts, mosh pits, and yes even raves when they were younger. I myself wasn't much into the rave scene, even though I came of age in the 90's. While it can be fun at times and I like some of the music, I find being in loud environments with lots of people pretty draining. That said... it did seem like quite a few guys and gals relied A LOT on the dim lighting and availability of mind-altering drugs to find someone to go home with them. Just sayin'... 😏

I read never a raver, but I've been in some mosh pits. I just never much liked the rave music
I like some techno/dance/rave music but also find a lot I don't like at all. Quite often the latter are from inexperienced or just untalented DJ's. I'm not saying I could do any better, so I guess I'm just saying there's obviously more to mixing music in terms of experience and a trained ear than some people think.
