Any good weekend activities

I am looking for something fun for my brother to do. He is 25 and spends most of his time at home which makes him feel pretty isolated. I want him to get out more and meet new people his age but I am not sure where to look for programs that are actually engaging. Does anyone have experience with weekend groups in the city? Are there any organizations that focus on social outings rather than just staying in a building? I would love to hear some personal recommendations from other families who have found success with this.

I totally get that feeling of being stuck at home. My cousin went through a really dark patch where he just didn't want to leave the house because he didn't have anywhere to go. We finally started looking for community activities for adults with disabilities and it changed everything for his social life. We found some great programs through Gateway that actually get people out into the real world instead of just staying in a boring classroom setting. They go to movies and parks and it really helps build up those social skills that are so easy to lose when you are isolated. It took a few weeks for him to get comfortable but now he has a group of friends that he sees every single weekend. It is such a huge relief to see him smiling and actually excited about his plans again. You should definitely check out what is available in your neighborhood because there are more options than you might think. Just taking that first step is the hardest part. It really makes a difference for their mental health.
