VLOG1# Introducing the band 'Roohaab'.

'Roohaab" is an outcome of random music and musicians. A dire love for music brought 5 people together to form a band and make Music of various genres. Most of the Music is the aftermath of unplanned jamming sessions.  It all started with a get together at my home where i had set up a small recording studio. Hakam my main man introduced me to a refined folk singer Sanam Singh and a very good harmonium and tabla player karandeep singh. I called anshuman who helps me with the bass line in my most of the songs.  

Enough said, Let me Introduce the band members. 

                 

The youngest of all and has his hands well on bass. Die hard linkin park's fan.

The Main man Behind the music Production 

And it was a bright sunny winter day, Jamming session on my terrace led to our first cover song. So this cover is the mash up of two punjabi songs and a rap written by hakam. The first opening track akhan biliyan is a popular song of desi punjabi critically acclaimed rockstar CHAMKILA. Sanam started nattering this song and i came up with an idea to give this song a reggae touch. Anshuman introduced the bass line, hakam helped us with the beat on cajon and karan played desi style harmonium throughout the song. Second song is Sheesha by MANKIRAT AULAKH. I thought of changing the mood of the song here, so i took it more towards a regular fusion and then hakam came up with his rap and i ended the song with some simple licks on my electric guitar. Each of us recorded our parts and i worked on the composition and music production of the track to give it a unique blend of western music and punjabi folk. Gourav Soni is the main man behind the idea and direction of this video and his friend Arun Teji who helped us with DOP and choosing the location to shoot the video of this song.  So here is the first cover song by ROOHAAB under the production of SILENT SHOR. We hope you enjoy our musical treat.
