Whale War

@SteemLegion, @haejin, @Ranchorelaxo, @themarkymark, @BernieSanders, @tuck-fheman

On behalf of many new co-steemians (and potential new joiners) that sit with me on the sidelines and watch, please take a moment and finish reading this text:

Following both sides of the war, we can kinda understand where ether side is coming from.

However!!!

  1. we don't think there are any bots, this is just what one side is saying. We've been called bots by too many, just because we have little to no SP. For example me, I'm new to the platform, and I sure as hell need to see what it's worth before investing.
    We want to see less drama and better value in the platform, like “fight for good content and not over the money” would be a good starting point.

  2. Personally, my friends in the blockchain club in my school recommended @haejin to me. I have to say that before I started following @haejin I was doing trading and made very little to no progress. When I started implementing his analyses techniques, I definitely saw a huge difference in profits. And no, that's not because the whole market was going up. Everyone here that follows @haejin, they all say the same thing and seem to agree that his techniques work.
    Does @haejin make too much money every day? Perhaps, but so can anyone… We would gladly vote and donate to posts from anyone, only if it brings us value of any sort (entertainment, news, education etc., not just money).

  3. When it comes to the side of the whale fight from @BernieSanders, @themarkymark, we are still trying to understand, what stops you guys from making good content, get a lot of followers, and increase your own slice of pie? This is where the true value of steemit is right? by increasing the community and let the free market play its magic. We’re just wondering, couldn’t your power used to down-vote be used to help the poor in steem instead? Help the ones with good content-potential but no money? Also, if you guys made more $$$ than you already are, would you ever share it with all the other steemians that you claim to be so worried about? (we’re just trying to understand if your true concern is everybody else, or is the true motivation a pure personal gain?)
    If we focus on getting better content and followers than the people we seemingly compete against, wouldn’t that bring into the platform more new steemians and potentially more steem to the table? Wouldn’t that work?

  4. So far, for us new people on the sidelines, this whale war looks something like this:

My 2014 Honda looked so slick until one day my neighbor got a 2017 BMW. I wonder if I go scratch my neighbor's BMW, will my Honda look any better?

My options are:
a. Scratch it.

  • I can say: "not just my Honda, but so many people also drive 1990’s Toyotas, they will all look bad if he drives a BMW".

b. Do not scratch it.

  • I should work harder and get a Bentley and not worry about everyone else on the road, they can all get Lambos if they want, let the true open market be at play.

Most likely, this post will be flagged or down voted. However, a response or an explanation would be much appreciated instead.
Thank you.
