16-inch Wig vs. 18-inch Wig—My Real Life Experience
When I first started trying wigs, I was torn about choosing the right length. I was particularly hesitant about choosing between 16-inch and 18-inch wigs, especially since they only differ by two inches, yet the effect on my head is noticeably different. Having tried both for a while, I'd like to share my personal experience and the differences between the two lengths.
What a 16-inch Wig Feels Like
The first time I tried on a 16-inch wig, my immediate impression was that it was just right. It reached just above my chest, neither too long nor too short. My first impression was that it felt lightweight and perfect for everyday wear. Whether it's straight, wavy, or curly, a 16-inch wig creates a more natural look and doesn't require a lot of maintenance time. For someone like me who's constantly on the go, a 16 inch wig offers the advantage of maintaining a beautiful style without requiring too much effort to maintain. Another thing I really like is that the 16-inch wig doesn't make my neck feel stuffy in the summer, and it's less likely to rub against clothes and get tangled. It feels fresh and perfect for daily commuting or work.
My Experience with the 18-inch Wig
The 18 inch wig is noticeably longer, reaching just below my chest. When I first wore it, I felt incredibly feminine, and my temperament instantly changed. It creates a softer, more elegant effect, especially with curly hair—it looks truly dramatic.
To be honest, however, the 18-inch wig is a bit more difficult to maintain than the 16-inch wig. Because of its longer length, it's more prone to tangles, especially with curly hair, requiring frequent spraying with moisturizer and manual detangling. While it's a bit more time-consuming, I have to admit that the 18-inch wig looks incredibly photogenic in photos and is a much more eye-catching option at parties.
My Choice and Experience
My personal preference: the 16-inch wig is more suitable for everyday wear, while the 18-inch wig is better for events or when I want to look extra stylish. Just like there are basic and eye-catching pieces in my wardrobe, the 16-inch is my "everyday versatile" piece, while the 18-inch is my "special occasion piece."
Sometimes I feel that the 16-inch is more of an understated beauty, light and natural, requiring little care; while the 18-inch is a more dramatic beauty, more refined, but also requires a little more patience to maintain.
