Wildlife: We were visted by a white collared kingfisher
Have you recently felt the thrill of holding a live bird in your hand without you making the effort of catching it because it just fell from a tree to your porch? Well, my student had!

He picked a white collared kingfisher one morning in the lobby of our classroom which is on the third floor of the three storey building. White collared kingfisher is called “tingkarol” in Cebuano.
After showing it to me so I can take a photo, he set the bird free. It flew and perched on a tree nearby and stayed there for few minutes and looked our way as if saying thank you for letting it fly again.
Such a cute bird. I am happy to know to that it had been set free. They deserve to be free and live happily in the lap of nature. Thanks for sharing these photos with us.
Yup, they do. You are welcome.
