Beautiful Wildlife but No Wilderness

It's tough to write an objective assessment of a safari experience in your own country. But I'll give it my best try... In terms of pure wildlife viewing, I would place the country among the greatest in Africa. After all, nowhere else on the continent compares to locations like Kruger and the Sabi Sands in terms of the high likelihood of sighting all five of the Big Five while on safari. I'd also add that the Sabi Sands offers the best big cat viewing – particularly of leopards – of anywhere on the African safari circuit; the Kruger has more well-habituated wildlife than you can poke a stick at, and the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park in Kwazulu-Natal is home to the continent's highest density of black and white rhinos.

If you're searching for wildlife, South Africa will not disappoint. Families and pregnant women can choose from a variety of outstanding malaria-free parks and private reserves in the country, giving them peace of mind and assuring that their safari adventure will not end in disaster.
