Milan — Federica Brignone and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo made history at the Winter Olympics on Sunday, each achieving remarkable success in different ways.

Host nation Italy celebrated Brignone’s incredible comeback as she captured her second gold medal of the Games, despite still recovering from a serious leg injury she suffered last year.

Meanwhile, Klaebo secured his place in the record books by winning gold with Norway’s men’s cross-country relay team, bringing his total to nine gold medals — the highest number ever achieved by a Winter Olympian.

After winning her first Olympic super-G title, Brignone said the experience felt like living in a movie — and like any great film, it was followed by a sequel. Nicknamed “the Tiger,” the Italian skier dominated the giant slalom to claim her second gold of the Games and the fifth Olympic medal of her career. She also extended her own record as the oldest Olympic champion in women’s Alpine skiing.

The event saw a rare tie for second place, with Sara Hector and Thea Louise Stjernesund finishing with identical times, both earning silver and honoring Brignone’s outstanding victory.
