RE: HF21 and Proposed Steem Discussion Forum

in #witness6 years ago

I'm really excited by the potential for TokenBB technology to provide a forum-based Steem experience!

While Steemit, SteemPeak, etc are solid social media apps, there has always been the problem of how to organize and find information which isn't easily to do with the current stream-of-consciousness style feeds & posts. Discord helps to some extent since you can just go and talk to someone in realtime, but again you've got that stream-of-sonsciousness style interaction which is hard to do historical searches on.

Forums are the perfect medium to solve this issue, and feel like a natural next step service to provide for Steem users. How wonderful to, for example, just click on a Hard Fork category and easily drill down to topics on whatever you're interested in.

I hope the community will be receptive to this approach and as enthusiastic about the new organizational possibilities it offers as I am!

@thecryptodrive, @reggaemuffin and @cryptomancer are decentralised across three continents for maximum continuity.

LOL Decentralized across three continents, just like the Trilateral comitee ... our own global steem illuminati :D

Hey i really do like the use of tokenBB, reminds me of @musing https://musing.io

tokenBB being back after @jesta made @chainbb makes me feel good knowing forums on steem are back, @ned needs to be using @steem @steemit to delegate and upvote @tokenbb posts at least for a limited time as a promotion

@ned using his actual steem and steemit accounts to do limited ANNOUNCED promotions for tokenBB and other steem dapps, on a rotation, each week he will go upvote top posts of Tokenbb then hell upvote top posts of dtube the next week, then @bescouted etc and he can showcase all the lesser known steem front ends, ned could help @vimm.tv @vimm https://vimm.tv actually compete with twitch and dlive and Vimm the steem based live streaming site could have a week of major upvotes by ned from the steem and steemit accounts

whats he afraid of? the reward pool being effected? Too bad people cant be given these unnaturally high reward pools without steemit inc getting to use it.. one day someone else will be in charge of that steemit inc stake when they are able to sell and decentralized it out, and those new owners will NOT hold back and they WILl use that nearly 20-30% of steempower and everyone will eventually feel the crunch.... so ned should rip off the brand-aid and start using trhe reward pool now, but for promoting steem dapps, in a controlled announced promotion, and to upvote people in a strict way who market steem, and no one will be mad... the steem and steemit accounts can be used to energize the entire blockchain as one giant marketing machine....

Lol, I promise I will use my illuminate powers for good. Regarding ned, well I stopped wishing on that star many moons ago. I think ned has cashed out enough Steem to be a well off millionaire and is off enjoying himself, as a business owner I don't understand why he isn't passionate about his "baby", I mean I can't wait to work on BuildTeam and Steem related matters every day and it feels like fun to me, not work, so I can't understand why he isn't more involved and passionate about his own project, each to his own I guess. BuildTeam is very much bootstrapped and grows organically, if we had funding or delegation support we could really push our flagshop products @tokenbb and @dlease to the external market, I often imagine what cool stuff we could do for Steem even if we had 1/10th the premined stake Steemit has, but it is what it is and we have to make do with the hand we are dealt.

Yeah but why did they have to go down a CENTRALIZED route? It's their perogative but it's a shame ... I await a forum like system that is decentralized and non-platform dependent then we could all be participating in the same forums and yet have a market of ideas creating better and better interfaces for said forum.

I wonder if they have any plans to decentralize it ... assuming they work hard to have the best interface we'll continue to use them. They do have a large headstart.
