RE: Steemit Forever! - The Community Seeds Project

in #witness7 years ago

What does it cost (in USDB) to set up as a witness and set up a node?
How can people support the community node effort?
Where is the list of nodes?

Thank you.

The cost to setup the node varies and is based on the user's experience with using linux and how they choose to host the software needed to run it. People can support the node project by voting or encouraging others to vote for the @justinadams witness. As you can see, we've only produced 2 blocks so far and 100% of that has gone to powering up the @chainchoppers account so that it can vote on our supporters in a responsible and meaningful fashion. Also if anyone wants to donate sp or delegate sp to the bot, they can send it to @chainchoppers steemit account, and it will whitelist them for votes from the @chainchoppers bot. I havent officially announced that one yet. But it's currently active. I'm going to power it up next week with about 50SP from my own money to start with, but anyone can delegate sp to the account if they want to help power it up. I keep a list of known active nodes on the network at steemit.chainchopper.com currently the community nodes that I donated initially are inactive as I cannot afford to keep them running or reactivate them until this project gains more momentum or a whale from heaven should offer his support @pumpkin :)

Can I delegate in increments? Steembottracker lets me make links of whichever amount. I going to post about you soon. I love this initiative and see how you are being consistent via the blockchain transactions. I'm just low power myself so I can only do so much for now.

@scottcbusiness is a friend of mine and has been researching on setting up a witness. So I hope he sees this post.

Personally, I suck at linux but I have a few courses I'm going to take next month. I've been reading @gtg posts. Are there any other resources you could direct me to in order to learn fast?

I know the feeling that having a whale delegate would be so helpful overall. I have some really great ideas too (I haven't shared them) but alas, big investments.

Have you looked into https://solicitingpower.com/
