Hey Worthless STEEM Witnesses.... Are You Going To Vote For Anyone With That God King Power?

in #witnesses6 years ago

The situation with STEEM continues to get worse and worse and I can't even count the amount of times that I look at where the voting power is for these worthless witnesses who are in the top 20 or close to it and see that they are at 100% voting power.

They are literally worthless !!!! Fucking Worthless!!!

Most of them don't do anything except stack coins ups. Hey mother fuckers!!! I'm not impressed.

Why is it that I'm adjusting my STEEM voter settings but you guys are so greedy that you don't manually vote for anyone or have anyone on auto voters?

Steem-voter-rules.png

Is the best way to stay on top to just hang out and drain this system and pretend like you are going to do something?

Usually I will give an account a chance but if I come back a week later and see the voting power at 100% again I take away that Witness vote if it is there. I had to do a couple more today.

When is the last time you got an upvote from these mother fuckers? Think real hard because it probably wasn't anytime recently. There are about 50 to 60 people draining this system.

They might point fingers and @ned . And yes @ned was clearly incompetent but most of the top 20 witnesses are as well. With no Vote decay the joke has been on all of us. They don't support any of you so why are you voting for them?

More importantly why are you invested in this system and still here? There are a lot of people who have left and many others leaving. I'm heading for high ground. Stuff like Litecoin, Monero, Tron, EOS. Those are better places for your money so we don't keep feeding these bit hogs.

What witness am I most impressed with? @good-karma . If we could actually pick someone to reorganize Steemit Inc and get shit done I would pick him and his crew.

A word to the worthless witnesses from me and all the people too scared to call out the bullshit. You are a big reason why this chain is ruined. Yes you will make it through this crypto winter and drain the STEEM chain and the community here but for the couple of you who aren't completely anonymous I wouldn't hesitate to tell that to your face if I saw you at some EOS event in the future.

Don't just point fingers at @ned The Witnesses caused a lot of the issues here as well but not supporting content creators and other community projects. They just smiled and have stacked up an insane amount of coins. In the end it will cost us our time and money.

WE ARE LEAVING!!!!

Sort:

A witnesses job is to secure the blockchain and ultimately your tokens by providing stable block producing nodes, price feed, review code changes, and implement hard forks.

Voting for people is not in their job description. The fact that they don't use their voting power actually makes your vote count for more.

I'm not going to defend inactivity, but to think a witness is any more responsible for voting posts than any other user is silly. It would be no different than any other user who has SP and is not voting. In fact, it's a gift to the community to not execute one's stake to draw from the reward pool, especially since most votes have nothing to do with the quality of content.

Again I'm not impressed. There are actually thousands of Steemians capable of "Witnessing" STEEM Power stacking up in their wallets. Some far more technical and serious about actually focusing on improving this ecosystem.

Some attempted to run Witnesses but weren't in the in crowd...etc. Some stick around at unprofitable backup spots. Some pray every night to the lords of Cobol for a vote from @freedom

Then how many people didn't bother to run a witness on this chain because the situation has always been a sham? It is a quick way to be unprofitable.

I think a lot of you don't realize how many people are quietly going out the back door because there are so many problems here and always have been.

In the time I have been here we have slipped from the #3 spot on CoinMarketCap to #51 currently. The market has spoken.

Most of the witnesses don't really care that much. They aren't engaged and are in a position to drain the system. They sort of treat STEEM like I treat my Ripple investment. It's just there and the only reason I'm invested is because the new people (Riptards) think it is something special for some reason. So I just use it and lose it.

It's so dumb to say it isn't in their job description. The reason they don't engage with the community is because they don't have to. Keep sitting on the throne I guess and spiral the price down to $0.05.

The more passively you can earn the coins and keep dumping the least skin off your back.

For now I have my vote still in place for you @themarkymark because I actually can see you are technical and have fought spam .....etc

Most of the time though I think about removing all my votes except for a couple of Witnesses and of course getting my investment out of here.

this comment makes sense...

A witnesses job is to secure the blockchain and ultimately your tokens by providing stable block producing nodes, price feed, review code changes, and implement hard forks.

This.

On top of that, many witnesses are also working on tools to bring value to Steem. Manual curation is not part of the witness job description, but many of us are voting on important posts.

Wow!!! Congratulations..... keep patting each other on the back.

Now don't bitch out of this question since you are such a great cheer leader. Please tell me what @lukestokes has done besides doing reports? Was it worth hundreds of thousands worth of STEEM?

How about @timcliff ? Seems like a nice guys. A traditional cheerleader here ...... but what has he done to earn Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of STEEM?

Now how about @partiko ..... they are currently in 57th spot. Probably unprofitable?

Has @partiko done more for STEEM than @timcliff or @lukestokes ?

Again..... don't bitch out of the question. I expect you to be a real wolf and not a yes man like most of the brilliant witnesses.

Still waiting on your reply. It's now worth it though. We wouldn't want to hear people's real opinions. Wouldn't want to upset your co workers.

Love it, love it love it. @brianphobos kicking ass and taking names. ( and I bet at 210 lbs and a dunker he could actually kick the shit out of all of them)

A full powered one and also to many of your comments on here , bro.

Always been a fan,and always will be

Thanks for your support! It is very clear that the greater community is at odds with a lot of the witnesses are doing, what Steemit INC is doing, and what some of the large Steem Power holders are doing.

It has honestly been like this since mid 2016 but we have had some brief moments where the price of STEEM allowed us to forget all the issues but we keep getting slammed back into reality and these things never get addressed.

The truth is that @ausbitbank has voted for my work many times. You can check my steemd for proof.

To be honest very light support here and there is nothing compared to a lot of others in the community. I could name 50 Steemians who's power never hits 100% voting power because they are engaging in the community constantly and providing real value. To be honest I don't know much about @ausbitbank but he hasn't done anything that has stuck out to me and I have been here since July 2016.

When I look at all these witnesses there are so many that don't actually support people on the platform. That encouragement could cause a person to spend more time producing content or developing something here. A lot of people have had to turn their backs on this platform instead of making bigger investments because you are likely to lose your investment here and it can't keep up with other cryptos.

Do you think that you could have STEEM Power pile up in an account passively if you were selected by a couple whale accounts to be in the top 20 witnesses ? There are 1000s of people technical enough to do that including myself. The difference is if I was in that position I would continue to support content creators like I always have.

My VP occasionally hits 100% but I try to keep it between 85 - 95% for best results. Here's what his account looks like right now:

I use steemd quite a lot and it seems to me that 100% shot of @ausbitbank's account is atypical.

You've made the Steemit Minute for today! Congrats!

Check out the Video Here: https://steemit.com/dtube/@reseller/7u89jywk

Thanks for the shout out @reseller ! And yeah when I look around and see so many witnesses doing little to no voting and then doing next to nothing in general it is pretty upsetting.

It doesn't encourage anyone to really invest here or build on this platform.

Just like you said, what if the support would have encouraged someone to build something cool on here ? Or the encouragement and a vibrant ecosystem would have made people feel like it is a better investment.

What if the recent crypto orders I was doing were more focused on buying STEEM and building things here? And not just me but times that by hundreds or thousands of people who turned their back on this platform because of the lack of support and the shammy attitude of those in control?

Then in the end @ausbitbank flags the post instead of defending his position. Because he doesn't have to defend it. He knows his position is secure and he is unstoppable on this chain.

Great post @brianphobos I fully agree with you and thanks for the mention Its been a very long time since I have seen my voting power at 100% lol, because I actually stay active and vote on posts and comments because I actually care about the community unlike a lot of these witnesses, which I'm going to have to check out after this!
Thanks for doing this post and bringing this to light for many people here, you get my 100% upvote even though it's worth nothing and a resteem !! 👍👍👍😉

It is good to bring it to light for sure and @ausbitbank flexed on all of us by flagging the post bringing this to light. I though we were trying to be our own banks? Why are we paying into his bank?

I noticed the flag once I got on my chromebook, such B.S! And another reason I removed some of these guys from my votes! 👎

Yeah it is pretty insane. I think a lot of people are afraid to vote for the post as well out of fear that some of those witnesses will see their support.....etc.

@ksreckersie I wouldn’t say your vote is worthless, even at $0.0 because in my opinion your support is always worth something.

Some of top witnesses are doing nothing for last year or more while good witnesses like @emrebeyler that contribute to this system are at lower rank. There are/was top 20 witness that was just selling vote but it was up there because if millions premined SP.

P.S. I'm also witness (at rank 101) and I'm using my votes and I'm active on Steem.

I invested some more money in last few week (only 100€, but I don't have job, so It's not so small amount for me) and I believe that Steem have future and I will stay here.

Yeah it is a big issue and a lot of us with the technical ability never launched Witness nodes because we knew it would be unprofitable.

hey, thanks for the kind words!

The biggest joke is that this post has been censored, despite calling attention to a real problem.

Despite being on Steem since 2016, i'm pretty disillusioned, and have been powering down over last couple of months. Not sure i'm gonna withdraw everything, but like you, I've identified some different projects which have greater promise. Therefore smart play is keep STEEM liquid so if I decide to put it elsewhere, I can do so at drop of a hat.

There are still some great creators and bloggers I would like to support, so I dont myself fully leaving, as long as they are posting.

I thought it might be a possible outcome and the sad thing is once most of us check out there will potentially be a whole new crew of fresh meat that comes in and gets chopped up as this small group of people drain the system and the ship continues to sink.

I'm pretty disillusioned as well and I'm glad I never went a lot deeper into the system but it looks like ultimately I'm going to lose for the most part on this investment. If I pull it now and put it towards other projects that still could be the best move though.

I will likely leave 1000 SP or so and mainly just use Share2Steem to post here from other platforms and limit my time here.

I did the math and even if I stopped upvoting others it would likely take 3 years to get my money out. That is if the price doesn't slip a lot more. These whales, witnesses, and Steemit INC might spiral it down to $0.05.

You are fully right man.
I’m seriously planning to change my witness vote for those who support others, upvoting and engaging...
At least I have a couple of steemians that use me as a proxy...hope would be more to really make changes on the first 20

It is an unfortunate reality. STEEM had so much potential it wasn't even funny and it is really sad to see everything transpire over the last 2.5 years.

I think that it's a shame that this is happening, that 100% power hurts my eyes and it makes even worse when the post is strongly flagged. I think that it's very unfair to be flagged for reporting a flagrant bad behaviour of some witnesses.

I thought maybe the way I came across might result in a flag for one of them trying to flex and basically say that they are a God King that can't be stopped.

I have always been someone who called stuff out here so in that respect I have always been at odds with those in power.

Um, unvoted sp increases the value of all other sp.
The more sp that doesn't vote the bigger everybody else's votes.

It's good that the greedy bastards are finally taking their thumbs off the scales and letting the community decide instead of them deciding for us.

@steemalliance is compiling the suggestion forms.

That could possibly be one way to look at it but the issue is there are large powered stake holders who are voting mainly for themselves. It really isn't giving that much power to dolphin class accounts. The reason those accounts aren't voting is to just stack up a large amount for themselves and they for the most part can't be knocked out of the equation for draining the system. With no rotational system or vote decay ....... long live the kings.

Any large self voting abuse is the responsibility of the other equally large accounts to downvote.
If they dont care enough to stop abuse, then steem fails.
Those witness accounts that dont vote should be encouraged to delegate to @steemflagrewards.
Until abusive bullies are confronted by the community, this is what we get.
