It is off to work I go

And I am just so excited. Kind of, sort of, maybe, a little bit, not really, I should be.

Been off work since November 2017. They didn't want me anymore.

Looking for work is actually easier than 35 years ago. Got to love the internet. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of opportunities as well.

I applied for my 4 jobs every week to qualify for unemployment. Put my resume on a couple job sites. Have to say I sound really good on paper. But had three obstacles to overcome: my age, no college degree and I got fired. God I hate saying that. Long story, maybe another day. But I did not deserve to be let go.

Moving on....

I was contacted by an employment service for an opening with a local company. Cool.

I made it through the preliminaries with the service, two phone 'screening' calls and one survey. Made it to next step, phone interview with two representatives from the actual business that is hiring. They had 2 opportunities and they interviewed for both. Double cool.

They called back same day and offered me one of the positions. Same title as I had at previous job. Now we are getting somewhere.

I accepted offer, pay sucks, filled out tons of forms, have my debit card for pay check. All done electronically, of course. Had to quick get my high school transcripts. My copy of diploma was ruined in a basement flood. This task was tricky but I managed.

That was last Friday. Now I sit here waiting for someone to decide a start date. Ho hum.

Slows down the momentum I had and takes the little excitement I could manage down a notch.

If I have to go back to work, which I sort of do want to, then lets get it over with. I was off all winter. Cold and unfriendly outside. So when do I find a job? Spring of course.

Got lots of mixed emotions about going back to work. That, too, can wait. But basically it is a challenging endeavor.

Just want to get moving so I can get into a routine and get settled.

Not sure why I want to hurry up and do something I don't want to do. Hmmmmm.
