The idol of Veles / Кумир Велес

This idol was made from a branch of a pear tree by my hands a few years ago.
I wanted to try this wood in the processing of a drill.
The material turned out to be excellent, dense fibers, well amenable to processing.

This is the image of the Slavic god Veles.
An owl on the shoulder as a symbol of wisdom, minimalism in detail.
The height of this statuette is 17 cm.

There was a period when I was actively carving the pantheon of Slavic gods out of wood.
Mostly from maple, birch and less often from oak.
And the first thing that came to my mind was Velez.
This "statuette" was not made to order and therefore remained on my shelf.

Этот кумир сделан из ветки груши моими руками несколько лет назад.
Мне хотелось попробовать эту древесину в обработке бормашиной.
Материал оказался великолепным, плотные волокна, хорошо поддаётся обработке.

Это образ славянского бога Велеса.
Сова на плече как символ мудрости, минимализм в деталях.
Высота этой статуэтки 17 см.

Был период, когда я активно резал из дерева пантеон славянских богов.
В основном из клёна, берёзы и реже из дуба.
И первое, что пришло мне в голову, был Велес.
Эта "статуэтка" не делалась на заказ и потому осталась у меня на полке.
