A realm of complex problems.

If you read the title of this post and think I'm going to talk about Fermat's theorem or some other math problem, no, I'm talking about an area where even a strong mathematician can fail, while someone who struggled with math in school can emerge victorious, thanks to their special intuition.

This is about gardeners who prune fruit trees and shrubs in the fall and spring to create a tree crown that's easy to maintain and one that allows sunlight to reach the fruit buds where the gardener wants them, thereby increasing yields.

But it is difficult to see the logic in this task, because you have to cut many branches on which many fruits can appear, and here the task is to think about quality, and if there is quality, then the harvest will be good.

I don't know if this principle applies to all trees, for example, those that are supposed to delight us with flowers like the magnolia, not fruit, but I'll look into it soon.

There was a time when my father hired a specialist to prune the vineyards and fruit trees, but he later took it up himself. I didn't adopt his experience, as he had other interests at the time, and over time, I became interested in it.

When you understand what you're trying to achieve, everything basically becomes clear, and the fear of cutting off unnecessary things disappears, although older trees, and there are more of them in my garden, require more delicate pruning, while young trees are more forgiving of our mistakes.

In the harvest season I will find out how well I have learned my lessons and how I have navigated the terrain of difficult challenges.
