Stability.

Stability is something we often strive for, but it often breaks down, throwing what we call unforeseen situations into our lives, situations for which we may find ourselves unprepared, as we quickly become accustomed to stability.

It's understandable that stability should give us a certain relaxation, but it can also backfire, like a person who fell asleep on an air mattress, enjoying the sun and vacation, only to be washed out to sea, their vigilance waning.

So, after several years of winters that weren't winter-like, too warm, and the assurances of the forecasters that a cold winter is no longer to be expected, we find ourselves in a situation similar to a loser tourist who neglected to stock up on supplies before setting off on a long journey.

The ice of a cold winter breaks the stereotypes that we create for ourselves or accept as our own alien beliefs.

I don't know which way the Gulf Stream has turned, but it seems to me that it's moving along a plane similar to a Möbius strip, and it will end up where it's supposed to be, whether the forecasters want it or not. Everything is stable, but delicate and unique :)
