Snow on the First Day of the Year

I woke up to the first morning of the year today. I had fallen asleep last night after the first hours of the new year had begun. It had started snowing before I went to sleep. I had anticipated a snowy landscape greeting me this morning.

I woke up and was greeted by a snowy view. From my balcony, the snow-covered roofs and the view of Istanbul captivated me. The first snow of the year fell in the first minutes of the new year.

I think a cold winter awaits us this year. We haven't experienced such a cold New Year's Eve in recent years. I hope the street animals can survive these cold nights.

Istanbul is a cat paradise. Many street cats live with us. If they survive these cold nights, better days are ahead.
