I will be tapering-off my Sodium Bicarbonate intake because it elevates my blood pressure

Having both low and elevated blood pressure is not good for the reason that it is not normal and may very well cause losing your life if you will not do anything about it. Usually my blood pressure is kept within normal values because I know that heart failure is the common cause of being a dialysis patient and I thank God that I was able to control it although there will come a time too that my probably will be the first one to give-up after my Kidneys if not my liver because I have a viral liver condition as well.

I was using Sodium bicarbonate tablets to keep my blood acidity level in check and I am just not monitoring it although I can feel the effects of not having an acidic blood or that condition called "Acidosis" which gave me symptoms like having a bitter aftertaste in my mouth, having a low oxygen level in my blood which made me so breathless all the time particularly when I walk and that feeling that your brain is not getting enough oxygen which really scared me at one time that it became worse, I thought that I would die from that morning. Also, one symptom is that I really could not eat even if I try to, so I became alarmed and suspicious that maybe there is something that is causing it all.

But thanks be to God and he showed me the way to realize that had been experiencing acidic blood for more than two decades already without me knowing although the main culprit was myself because of my intake of Ascorbic acid in great amounts (megadosing) and it made my blood very acidic, hence the symptoms of high altitude sickness happened.

It did prompted me to seek the cause of these symptoms and thankfully the solution is just taking sodium bicarbonate daily. After that I was able to feel better particularly in that first day that I ingested about fifteen tablets of sodium bicarbonate following that symptoms I aforementioned, I felt well afterwards because I cured my bad case of acidosis one and for all which is why I regularly take one tablet of sodium bicarbonate per day, during the time that my stomach is empty which is late at night.

I was able to eat better afterwards, no more feeling of severe anorexia which is why I am able to finish my meals although my appetite remains to be poor due to the fact that we do not eat tasty foods here in the house most of the time. I am also not that so breathless anymore when I walk and I was able to go around the house now to look on things sometimes. It was something that I really appreciate because solving my long-standing acidosis quite improved my quality of life although it ruined my life for so much time but I was to blame for it.

One thing that got improved was my tolerance to dialysis, I do not experience frequent huge drops in blood pressure like what happened for so many years as mentioned. It is because the acidity of my blood was raging in those times and so it lowered my blood oxygen levels, no wonder why it was taking too long for the pulse oximeter to read my blood oxygen levels because it was low in the first place and it get lower during dialysis which had made my dialysis life very uncomfortable for many years not to mention failing to complete many treatment sessions but I am glad that it is all a thing of the past now because I was able to take out the major root cause, acidosis.

Now I was taking two tablets of Sodium bicarbonate everyday and each tablet contains 650 mg. Apparently it is too much for me because it is already raining my blood pressure too much. My blood pressure reading today is 130/100, it is high for me because I am not feeling comfortable with it. Its root cause will be my sodium bicarbonate intake. I might lessen the tablet to just one tablet a day because after all I was taking less a day a few weeks ago and it was OK, so I will just stick to that dose for the sake of my blood pressure not getting out of hand.

I hope and pray that God blesses my efforts to achieve a much better well-being because all of these hard work will not happen without God's grace and mercy on my soul.
