Should we care less for things we have no control?

There is a hot news in my country, it was this investigation (with I doubt will yield positive results) by our country's president with regards to flood control projects which failed for years to solve the flooding of provinces and even in the capital city. Apparently the money given to the contractors are pocketed and some people benefited to it including the politicians, government employees, and journalists due to of course bribery just for the contractors to win the government contract.

The bad thing is that the projects done by the contractors like road rehabilitation and the said flood control projects do not have the quality for it to be durable enough to withstand the normal wear and tear of using the roads for example and the most painful things is that no projects are done but the contractors are paid because they are ghost projects.

There are also government employees which receive salaries even when they are no longer working or had resigned already and still included in the payroll regardless of who is getting the money. There are also "ghost employees" which are supposed employees which receives salaries but the money is collected by somebody in high position from that government branch.

It is painful to realize that nobody is being arrested and held accountable for this level of graft and corruption because money makes people look the other way. I just try not to think about it so much because what can I do? All that I can do is not do what these evil people does and I can't even share posts which reveals corruption in the government and other entities in the fear of receiving a backlash against myself.

Let us just pray to God that our governments should do what is good for the benefit of all and not for the benefit of some like what is happening here in my country where the majority of people suffers while some greedy families are waxing in plundered fortunes.
