Getting Ready for the World Cup ⚽️
We are about one hour away from the start of the World Cup game featuring Argentina and Spain. It's happening in New Jersey.
This is an all-day event and I've had the television going for three hours watching the stadium fill up, watching them set up the goals.
Spain has already arrived at the stadium and this picture is of the bus and its proximity to the stadium. It's the blue bus at the center, at the bottom of the photo.
The local television stations are following the bus and every movement it makes. They are showing the players getting off the bus and walking through the various halls to the locker room area and the International Cable Station has the pre-game entertainment.
First there was a singer with lots of young ladies dancing around in sweatshirts and the song was called World Cup.
I'm writing a post so I don't really pay attention to all the names of the people who are coming on stage, if you can call it a stage.
I'm watching flamethrowers that send balls of fire up into the air all over the entire pitch.
One singer in a cowboy hat, singing in Spanish of course, climbed up onto a stage while he was singing and then they switched to Ariel and the stage is actually a soccer ball.
In the city of Buenos Aires, there is popping and sizzling. The anticipation and pre-celebration is palpable no matter where you are in the city.
I saw a lot of very clean play with very few faltas last game and that is a good way to play. I see the Argentine players praying during the game and thanking God when they score a goal.
I'm hoping for a win today and watching with much anticipation. I was not raised a soccer fan but I am getting there.
